Matthew Stafford has taken a beating in the first two weeks of the season. On Monday, Lions coach Jim Caldwell acknowledged the hard hits are adding up.

Caldwell was non-committal when asked if Stafford would be ready for Detroit's Week 3 matchup against the Broncos next Sunday night.

"We'll see," the coach said, via ESPN.com. "He's very, very sore. There's no question about that. He got hit far too many times."

He might even get a chance to meet Ray, Barrett and Anunike.

Mort said he'd play Sunday. He might not last long at all.

Soreness? No, nobody sits out a game for soreness unless they want to be laughed at. Caldwell is just trying to blow some smoke up our ass

Meh. I'll probably bench him either way. I guess I'll start Phillip Rivers. Ugh.

Crap. On my other team that has Stafford, my back up is Romo.

Thats ok, some guy in my league had Romo as the starter and Cutler as the backup. Now he is forced to go with Tyrod Taylor.

Tomlinson knee was sore during our playoff loss to the patriots. And he sat out.

Signed
Phillip Rivers

Stafford will play. I can't see him being sore as reason for him not to play.

I just keep thinking Stafford's far younger than Manning, and the elite D HE'S facing won't have the crowd behind it. But don't mind me; I'm one of those "don't waste time worrying about what can go RIGHT" people. I'd probably lie awake nights worrying if we were playing the local HS (and they don't have a team.)
