No surprises. I thought Green might be ahead of Daniels, but they'll probably draw equal snaps, anyway.

We'll be a little thin at safety for week one without a doubt. Hopefully Darian Stewart learned enough about Steve Smith last year to keep a lid on him for sixty minutes. I trust Bruton to do his job but TJ Ward's presence in the box is unparalleled.

how long before norwood or fowler starts taking latimer's reps?

What teams secondary are you talking about, because I think ours is about the best in the league

I'm not much worried about any of the defense heading in, with a tentative nod to the inside linebackers. I continue to have concerns about the offensive line and Denver's ability to run when it counts. But even that shows some real signs of being strong.

There's not many true weak spots on this team on paper.

todd davis looks like a real find. . . IMO, we look strong everywhere on D right now. . . with wade dialing up blitzes, it's just plain going to be fun to watch. . . i fully expect them to carry us this season. . . OT is the one spot that really scares me on this roster. . .

The Broncos do not have a backup LT, this is almost negligent.

I think he meant a quality backup NFL tackle.

So does it count towards the undrafted free agent streak if that UDFA wasn't the Broncos UDFA?

Btw, I'm probably the only one who likes Schofield and even I don't think he can play LT.

more like nofield. . . as in, please god no, don't let that guy get on the field. . .

we really should review jake long's physical again. . . if'n he can walk, get him in here. . .

Just out curiosity is your tentative nod to the inside linebackers due to ability, health concerns, or both?

Absolutely. THIS is a disaster waiting to happen.

LT: Starter: Ty Sambrailo. Backup: Michael Schofield.
RT: Starter: Ryan Harris. Backup: Michael Schofield.

This would be bad, bad, BAD even if Schofield were an experienced player who didn't suck, instead of an under-achiever who looked horrible during the preseason while playing against backups.

It's made far worse in that he's got no starting experience at all, plus he can't play LT at all.

It appears the Broncos will start the NFL season without any good options at all if either of their starting T's gets hurt.

Trading Chris Clark for a 7th round pick was just a monstrously stupid move! They might not have liked him, but he would provide quality depth at LT if Sambrailo gets hurt.

It's not as if better veteran FA Ts are sitting around waiting for a call in case the Broncos need one!

Just a monstrous Elway brain fart! While putting Schofield in at RT would be bad, having him replace Sambrailo would just be fatal to the Broncos chances for a SB.

C.) All of the above.

I can understand the injury issue especially with Trevathan. If either of them or even both of them get hurt Davis and Nelson are more capable manning the position.

Ability wise not so much because they've shown they can play when. I know they both played on the outside but they are both very athletic and have shown they can cover tight ends and running backs. Both have been trusted in the past to call the plays for the defense.

Nelson is too small for regular LB duties in a 3-4 and Denver is going to get tested early and often in the running game.

During one Denver's preseason games Lynch mentioned that Davis could be starter for several teams right now. Nelson also plenty of playing time last season.

Speaking of the OL, I keep reading about how they're going to "coach these guys up" but seems like all they're doing is retreading Kubiak's old "fits the system" rejects.

i wouldn't sweat it that much. . . i doubt he sees any time in the base D, barring multiple injuries. . . guessing he's on the roster mostly as a special teamer and nickel 'backer. . .
