I'm planning on watching it all, baby!

I'd like to see how our #4 RB battle shapes up, and see how much time Siemian gets out there. I may fall asleep in the fourth quarter, but it will be on my TV the whole time.

If you haven't watched the other games, there's really no reason to watch this one. I'll expect your full attention next Sunday, though. :D

Playoffs. Frozen tundra. Sub-zero temperatures. Everything on the line...and on the ground, there's one man that sends chills down the spine of defenses...oh wait - that's Eddie Lacy.

Game 4 of the preseason. Everything on the line...on the ground, there's one man...

I'll watch the whole thing when I get off of work. I'm recording it. It will be the last chance to see some of these guys play this year. Seimian will get a half, then we won't see him play again until next preseason. Same with some of the backups and third stringers. It could be Montee Ball's last game as a Bronco. Could be Caldwell's last game as a Bronco. Same for Gradkowski, Smith, Tony Carter and a few other vets. I think there will be a few surprise cuts this weekend. Then there will be the inevitable surprise "IR" moves.

I like the preseason. Don't really understand why some hate it - other than those paying full price to attend (which is ridiculous the NFL doesn't discount them).

Gives you a chance to see the young players, and how they do. Also gives the coaches time to evaluate those players. Try telling the guys on the bubble these games don't matter.

I'm with VonDoom. I'll watch the entire game.

4.7 / 4 TDs in the most prolific offense ever.

Always kinda shocked looking at those 120 carries as he never looked special in the slightest to me. But the numbers do show he offered surprisingly serviceable production as a change of pace back to Knowshon.

Then went on to become one of the most disappointing players in the NFL since - and here we are.

I don't necessarily gave anything against preseason, it's just usually hard to find them on TV and I can't work up the effort to try to steam a game that doesn't count. I'll watch them if they are being broadcast nationally, but that's about it.

I thought Trevathan played more than that last week. I know they said he was only going to be out there a bit, but I thought I remember him being around more. Either way, those other guys DO need the reps. Johnson is probably safe but Barrow and/or Nelson are on the bubble.

I think Kubiak has just been very cautious with Trevathan because all the problems he had last season.

I don't think it would be shocking to see Trevathan get some reps tonight but not many.

Not a bad game. I really do like the Siemian throws a football. Just looks nice, and that touchdown was a thing of beauty. Bibbs gets the yards that Ball doesn't get, has the burst that he doesn't have, and plays special teams too. What the hell happened to Ball?

Doubt we'll trade him, but I'll hate to lose Bibbs to another team. He should make somebody's squad. Fowler and Taylor look pretty good and about equal, and Caldwell still looks a stride ahead of them (though he should be at the relative points in their careers). Wouldn't mind them making it over Caldwell, but Manning likes Caldwell so it likely won't happen. Shaq needs to stop jumping at every hard snap count, but he's got nice burst, and he and Ray look nice. Really, most of our defense looks pretty good, even the scrubs.

Except Marsh. Marsh lost his spot tonight for sure. Overall, not a bad outing, even if I'm not thrilled with our backup OL. Most of those guys won't make the squad so it doesn't REALLY matter, but jeez.

Nobody important got hurt, Oz did a few nice things (though missing Latimer was unfortunate for Latimer - that guy can't buy a big play). I'll take it.

Now bring on Baltimore and let's start the damn season. The bottom of the roster will be sorted out in short order - but I can't wait to see what the top will do. Game One of our championship run starts next. Can't wait.

Wasnt sure if Ball had what it takes to make the Broncos but after tonight I am not sure he has the skills to make it in the NFL. After so many of these performances, eventually you just have to say he is just not a very good running back.
Max Garcia is a beast. Watched him at center tonight. Much stronger at point of attack than paradis. He has manram strength with athleticism. If vasquez and mathis are fixtures at guard, how long before Garcia takes over at center?

Paradis has looked pretty solid at center considering, but ya Garcia has looked good too. Mathis is just a one year rental, then the LG job is Garcia's with Paradis being the long term C. Garcia gets to be the backup at both G spots and C this year.

Ball will get cut today. Even if they keep 4 RB's he is not close to starting over the top 3. I can't see why any other team would trade for him. He looks like he is running in ankle deep mud all the time, very slooooooow. What he can do is catch out of the backfield and block, but if you cant run well you have no business of being on this team. I don't know if it was the injury last year, desire, or just luck in his rookie year but something happened to him.

Caldwell is likely making the team. I'm hoping at this point that we keep six WR, because I love Fowler right now.

As for McManus ... eh, I'm not worried yet. He hit a 50 yarder and missed from 51. Not the end of the world. I believe Mason said that since TB picked up Barth, he's 0-2 on FG's this preseason, so it is what it is.

Yes, because had Fox not drafted him, surely no one else would have soon after. It's not like he was a crazy productive back in college who was pretty much thought of as a consensus second round pick.

Well apparently Ball was all class in a most humbling showcase so that must have been a very tough presser after.

In the comments to Goodman's posts everyone agrees he's an A+ dude so that sucks - didn't really know he had that reputation. So maybe he really impressed in his predraft interviews.

That said I didn't read anything before that draft rating Ball over Lacy. Lacy was bigger and faster with fewer miles (that was something oft-mentioned re:Ball at the time).

NFL people put too much stock in Lacy's injury and GB has reaped the benefits. Hopefully it works the same with Ray but it's not hindsight. It was a clear mistake to many from day one. It happens but this was bad. Maybe Lacy calms things down in the SB after the bad snap. We don't know.

When do the cuts have to be in by?

Saturday by 4:00 Eastern. I think Kubiak said after the game that they would do the majority of the cuts tomorrow morning.

Also, he's not getting any run, but Josh Bush made a couple of very nice open field tackles in that game. With Ward's suspension, I wonder if Bush will stick on the 53 man roster for the first week, then try to get him through to the PS after that game.

No.

No?

He had 1500+ all purpose yards and double digit Tds.....Those are pretty stellar numbers. You have to high standards I think my friend. His two best years he averaged just a hair shy of 5 ypc. If we can get that from a UDFA- who backs up CJ, I will call that a MAJOR WIN!

I've been on the Bibbs bandwagon, mostly because a guy who plays one year of "real" college ball and logs 1700+ yards and keeps company with Barry Sanders on single-season touchdowns might have a spark of greatness in him. He still hasn't done anything to dissuade me of that notion. It took Hillman a few years after college to get it and start producing and hitting holes like he does now. Maybe Bibbs is just Tatum Bell, but Tatum was decent for a minute.

I would take Bibbs over Ball right now because Ball only gets what's there (and sometimes not even that). Bibbs in the open field is a weapon in ways that Ball never will be; witness that depressing attempt a juke that Montee did. Should Bibbs be getting carries over Hillman and CJ? No. If Hillman or CJ go down would I rather have Bibbs around to keep the running game intact instead of Ball?

You betcha. Makes me sad for Ball, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

In one season. Every season after that was irrelevant. He had a great rookie year and played in all 16 games. After that injuries and inconsistency ended his career. I look at a body of work when you compare players, not "hey, this kid could be like that one season that other player had".

Shouldnt we just cut Ball and Latimer and get it over with? Sorry, I know Im being lazy. I need to get to the gym. Im getting fat

I can understand cutting Ball but cutting Latimer isn't going to happen. It can two to three years for a receiver to develop.

Yes you do need to get off couch and stop being lazy.

Broncos should have drafted Lacy over M. Ball.

I dont blame you for that and I agree but I think you are starting to delve off path. I only mentioned Slaton as having a few good seasons. Not that he was a great player. Just two good seasons. Which he did. Also, Slaton is only relevant because I believe Bibbs can be like a slaton. When Slaton was healthy and not hurt he did pretty ok. We cannot predict that the same injury woes will apply to bibbs, IF bibbs even makes the squad. If he does, I hope he does, I suspect he will produce like Slaton did when healthy. Is a 1500+ yard season and 13+ tds in bibbs future here? More than likely not even close, but a player who can chew up 4.9 YPC is someone I want on my team. Someone who has the potential to fill in should the shit hit the fan.....Last thing I want to see is what happened to us when Knowshon went down and ronnie hillman had to run against the ravens and couldnt do it.

Youre right. We should have. It's all John Foxes fault. We should have never hired Fox, we should have hired Harbaugh. ..

Sweet, Caldwell made his 2-3 plays for the season, he's now overdue for another disappearing act.

I thought in 2013, Caldwell did a great job of coming in making plays and was really reliable when called upon, so much so, before Sanders arrived, I thought he might push for a starting job after Decker left. But last year he was so bad, his play on special teams was also dreadful I am surprised he made it to the final round of cuts, but this pre season he has looked more like the reliable hands I thought he was 2 years ago.

He did ok in 2013 when he filled in for Welker. He was targeted 30 and had 16 receptions. 11 of them came in final three games of the season when he was filling in for Welker. He had six in loss to the Chargers at home and then five more split between the last two games of the season.
