Dave & I are still the only ones to have signed up for the Survival Leagues this year http://www.broncosforums.com/forums/showthread.php/600481-BroncosFourms-2015-Survival-Leagues. Not only do we have just 16 members signed up so far for the Pick'em league http://www.broncosforums.com/forums/showthread.php/600412-Broncos-Forums-Pick-em-League-2015, which is probably about half of the number that usually participate, but I've bumped the thread for our super league 3 times to get whoever is in charge of restarting it to do so http://www.broncosforums.com/forums/showthread.php/589717-Broncos-Forums-Official-Fantasy-Football-League-2014!?p=2366618#post2366618. There's still been no response & most likely won't this close to the start of the season.

So unless someone signs up for the survival league, then I guess Dave is guaranteed to get 3 2nd place trophy :second: :second: :second: :D

I can't speak for others, but I just got super burnt out on fantasy football a few years ago and really haven't had any desire to jump back into it. Football stopped being fun to watch as it just consisted of me getting stressed out about players not getting enough yards or touchdowns. It's way more fun to just watch and enjoy the games without worrying about all that crap.

I've moved on to doing just a few keeper leagues. That's more fun to me. But I've always liked Madden franchise mode, which is similar.

I see you just signed up for the Pick'um, why not try the survival leagues as well.

Daily fantasy is even worse. Because with regular fantasy football - you're rooting against your opponent's players - in daily fantasy, you're basically rooting against everybody you didn't roster... Which is like the whole league. So it's like I just become increasingly more aggravated with each score that I didn't roster. Fun!

That sounds like torture.

That's pretty accurate - mostly torture with small pockets of enjoyment.

Daily FF  Does this mean your accumulating points everyday, even though there are only 3 days per week in which games are played  If your getting points for how you do in practice, Kyle Orton's FF value would've increased dramatically.

I've seriously never heard of "Daily FF," my speculations were joking.

That's kinda surprising since those DraftKings and FauDuel commercials pretty much play a million times a day. Pretty much you just pick your team and you only have that team for that one day, and you are rewarded based on how they do.

Its a great concept for making money, but seems boring to me at the same time. I'm intrigued, but not much of a gambler. Last year I purchased 200 dollars worth of credit, and got my 200 free (they aren't 200 dollars credit, but a in system credit amount that does NOT equal 1 dollar)...but ended up getting my refund before even entering my first roster... Seems most of the "leagues".. you can make 58 cents if you win when putting in your 5 dollars....maybe jumps all the way up to 1.28. So in order to make any kind of real money, you would have to join 50 leagues per week, and the escalate every week monatarily/games played. Just not my thing, I guess.

I wouldn't really say it's a scam. It's a legit website. People actually do make money on it. But like any other form of gambling, the house is going to have the advantage.

I've never really looked into it since the rise of these leagues have coincided with me scaling back on fantasy football in the first place, but I agree that they don't really seem like the most fun thing in the world. You don't have the facet of facing off against your friends over the course of the season, and you probably aren't going to make much money unless you just get really lucky.

The biggest thing going for it I would say, though, is that you don't have to put a whole season of commitment into it. Maybe someone doesn't have time to focus on keeping up with a team all season, but likes to play every once in a while. This would be a good answer to that.

This is definitely focusing on those that love to gamble on sports and playing into the public's "addiction" to gambling. It's a skill based game thus isn't really called gambling, but in order to make lots of money, you have to make lots of bets, and you must do it every week. They are making ssoooooooo much money its comparible to casino's now, large casinos. So I definitely think they are relying on people to get addicted and coming back each and every week for that "thrill" of winning their extra cash (or the chance there of).

Can't do one day leagues in Montana, so never tried. Still have my 2-3 normal teams, just like every year....and just like every year I will win $$$ or break even. It really doesn't change who I root for a whole lot.....plus its gameday so the Broncos give me plenty enough reason to chemically inconvenience my senses anyway.

Freedom.

Different states have different gambling laws. For instance, the most you can win at a casino here, is $800, per game/play (every press of the button for keno really). That way, none of it is taxed. I've seen people walk out with 5+k, tax free.
