NFL cornerbacks are akin to Major League Baseball hitters: There are those who have been humbled, and those who are about to be humbled. As the only impact player in the Broncos' draft class a year ago, Bradley Roby delivered a promising rookie season, punctuated by big plays in the season opener and an interception at Oakland.
He played well — by first-year standards. He gave himself a C-minus grade for the season. And Tuesday, Pro Bowl cornerback Chris Harris agreed with him, citing mistakes common when young players are left on an island.
"He was really up and down a lot," Harris said of Roby. "He went through a stretch where he gave up like six touchdowns in a row. Whenever you do that, it's definitely a C-minus. He knows that and what he has to get better at. He had some rough times, but he still fought through it and made a lot of plays."
