5. Denver Broncos (http://www.nfl.com/teams/denverbroncos/profile?team=DEN): Denver's fortunes hinge entirely on what version of Peyton Manning (http://www.nfl.com/player/peytonmanning/2501863/profile) we get come September. There's also the question of how he fits into Gary Kubiak's boot-heavy scheme minus pass-catching tight end Julius Thomas (http://www.nfl.com/player/juliusthomas/2495353/profile). While we don't expect the Broncos (http://www.nfl.com/teams/denverbroncos/profile?team=DEN) to force Manning into an attack that doesn't make the most of his gifts, changing up the regime midway through Peyton's Super Bowl (http://www.nfl.com/superbowl)-or-bust run in Denver was risky. It's a hunch, but the Broncos (http://www.nfl.com/teams/denverbroncos/profile?team=DEN) feel snakebit.

That's where everyone is missing the mark. Manning won't be the key to this team this season. It's going to be the running game and defense.

and I'm not even worrying about September, Manning has looked good the early part of the season, it's the last part he looked like father time swallowed him up

Good. Let us fly under the radar! GEMs name is going to be validated this season. Id much rather prefer this anyway. Like montee ball said, head down mouth shut. Full steam ahead! Let them keep picking NE to be the bosses. We are going to be so good and they wont have any idea what hit them.

If Manning isn't the key then we should've just cut him and used the money to sign positions of need. But that's not the case. It's Peyton Manning and he is the key.

Peyton mf manning.

The key, the lock, the door, the rooms behind it and the back yard.

When he is super bowl mvp people will be begging him to come back for another year lol

I think he meant more in terms of Manning actually having to carry the workload compared to the last 3 seasons.

There were games Elway was just ugly in the Super Bowl years.

Unfortunately this team doesn't have TD to bail us out. I love CJ, but he's not TD.

Yeah, it would really not shock me one bit to see us go like 9-7 and just miss out on the playoffs. I'd put money on us making the playoffs over missing them, but I absolutely can see the scenario in which we fall short.

It was the OLine that made them dominant. I know we're used to seeing sloppy and over matched play up front, by tim they can bring back some of the nastiness up front again they'll be OK. New system in place and a switch up of personnel can do wonders. It's a long shot but you never know...

I'd love for the Vegas odds on the Broncos winning the division to go down. More $$$ for me.

The fact that the Broncos currently have a single solitary proven legitimate NFL starter on the OL (maybe two) doesn't dampen your expectations for this running game?

Having a bunch of new, young guys means they don't have to unlearn everything they already know to adjust to a new system. Our new coaches are craftier than we thought. ;)

Then let's hope it's the new, young guys and not the veterans they signed in FA.

That's one way of looking at it I guess. But when you have two o-line starters who have been cast off by multiple teams and two that are rookies, which it looks like will be the case for us, there might not be any level of coaching that can turn that into an o-line that can keep a team competing for a super bowl.

Maybe I'm wrong and we drafted a couple of studs who will play at a pro bowl level immediately, and guys like Gino Gradkowski and Shelley Smith were just bad fits at their last stops and will excel here. I would say the odds are highly highly against those things being the case, but I guess we will see.
