I could put you up dave, the problem is I usually have to travel in the fall and dont know until rather last minute. Which means you cant really count on it for sure. Its why Ive missed the last couple tailgates. So id recommend having a backup in mind in case I do have to skip town.

The first one is out of the way to the north, and the other is out of the way to the east... Both could work if you rent a car. You're better off staying downtown - BDB and Tned and Spike and some of the others who travel in for a game every year could probably give you a better recommendation.

49th is nowhere within walking distance to Mile High. Not even close.

16th street mall is about 1 mile from the stadium.

There are places in the DTC that are cheaper and nicer, just not walking distance to stadium, but nightlife in the DTC is ok. The light rail does go thru the dtc all the way to downtown and the stadium.

flights are generally the lowest about 90 days before the departure date. Also, buying tickets on a Tuesday afternoon will generally be the cheapest.

Then the place I mentioned above is just what you're looking for! The Stupid travel agency sent me there...the white paint on the walls was so nicotine stained it looked tan colored. We didn't have water....the morning of the game. I was awakened around 2am by a "gathering" in the room next door.

The scary thing is I enjoyed it....may God have mercy on my soul.

The rooms are pretty nice and it's right next to the light rail station which will take you to the stadium. If you can, I would try to stay around the 16th St Mall. It's not that long of a walk to the stadium and you'll have access to a bunch of shops and restaurants.

Diving 6 days a week 11 months out of the year has been rough on it. I can't get it done now because we're in the middle of high season. We'll see what happens. The money is set aside for the trip, I'll just have to wait and see what the doctor says.

A month off from diving might be enough time to heal on it's own.
