There is no doubt offensive line is the Broncos’ greatest position of need as they enter final preparations for the NFL draft. Right tackle would be need No. 1. Left guard may be a close second.

That doesn’t mean the team will take a right tackle or left guard with their first pick, No. 28 overall, in the draft that begins with the first round in 16 days. John Elway, the Broncos’ football operations boss, has only said he will take the best available player.

But it’s not surprising the Broncos will visit next Tuesday with Texas A&M offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi, who started at guard as a freshman. Unfortunately for Ogbuehi and the Broncos, the prospect will gimp in through Dove Valley’s doors. He is recovering from a torn ACL, a knee injury suffered during the Aggies’ Liberty Bowl win against West Virginia on Dec. 29.

Maybe a 2nd or 3rd rd possibility? He's a right tackle that didn't do as well when moved to left this year if I remember right

He's a late first early to mid second rounder. Without the injury he was a mid first rounder. I wouldn't be shocked to see him go in the first, even with the ACL tear. A lot of it will depend on the medical reports.

He'll probably go in the first. Don't see him slipping past saints in 2.

Make that at least two draft-eligible right tackles who have piqued the Broncos’ interest.

The Broncos visited Tuesday with Pitt right tackle T.J. Clemmings. The Denver Post previously reported the Broncos are scheduled to sit down next Tuesday with Texas A&M right tackle Cedric Ogbuehi.

The 6-foot-5, 309-pound Clemmings has the type of athleticism that may make him an ideal fit for the Broncos’ zone-blocking offense. He was a defensive end in high school and in his first two years at Pitt before converting to offensive tackle for his final two seasons.

Know what the Broncos need? I mean, really need.

Another Pot Roast.

Check that. A Pot Roast who can run. Auburn defensive tackle Angelo Blackson has the measurables to be a nice nose tackle in Wade Phillips’ 3-4 defense.

Blackson is 6-foot-4, 318 pounds — lighter than Terrance “Pot Roast Knighton by 20 pounds or so. And the mocksters aren’t giving Blackson any love as he’s mostly projected as final round-to-premium undrafted free agent.

At 6'5 and 329 pounds, Phillips is a mammoth defender and played an integral role in the Sooners two-gap defense. Listed below is his cumulative statistics at Oklahoma.

His combination of size and athleticism are certainly a rarity. For a man his size, he moves extraordinarily well and has a great initial step and demonstrates tremendous quickness and snap anticipation. While his stat sheet doesn't indicate a premier pass rusher, he does have good penetration skills, a deadly swim move and often forces the opposing quarterback to make errant throws or decisions. That is hidden production that won't show up on paper, but certainly does in film review. Additionally, his strength allows him to be a force in the running game, which often makes him command double teams.

Isn't he projected as a 3rd round prospect? I'll be surprised if he's not gone by the end of the first

I didnt think Phillips would even make it to our pick. Id be fine taking him in 1 and Ced in 2 or trading up for ced or fisher in early 2.
