ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- With some familiar names still looking for work as free agency enters its next, more subdued, stages in the days and weeks to come, history says the Denver Broncos will keep their options, and checkbook, open -- at least just a little bit.

Recent history has also shown the current Broncos regime believes veteran help can be found for those with patience. Or at least for those willing to wait and see how things unfold with players at the initial organized team activity workouts and minicamps.

The Broncos do get an extra minicamp this year because they have a new head coach with Gary Kubiak replacing John Fox.

"Free agency goes long after that first week," said executive vice president of football operations/general manager. "It's not something that stops, it's just a different approach after that first wave."
