It’s still unclear whether Peyton Manning return to the football field next season, but we know now that Peyton Manning return to Studio 8H for the 40th Anniversary Special of “Saturday Night Live,” on Feb. 15.

As promoted in a Super Bowl commercial by NBC the Broncos quarterback will join a long list of celebrities and athletes — including Derek Jeter (had to get that in there) — set to appear on SNL’s three-hour special.

The so-far announced guest list, in addition to Manning and Jeter: Eddie Murphy, Paul McCartney, Jack Nicholson, Kristen Wiig, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Paul Simon, Taylor Swift, Jim Carrey, Chris Rock, Garrett Morris, Andy Samberg, Maya Rudolph, Martin Short, Betty White, Emma Stone, Jimmy Fallon, Dana Carvey, Adam Sandler, Melissa McCarthy, Will Ferrell, Robert De Niro, Jerry Seinfeld, Molly Shannon, Mike Meyers and others.

Manning does have a gift for comedy and can laugh at himself. You'll notice Eli has never come close to Peyton at either despite playing for Media Central.

Ravage!!!

Actually, Peyton and Eli have some pretty funny rap commercials they do together.

Are these folks, Manning included actually going to be in some new production, or are they simply going to be replaying the old skits that were the funniest for each?

I'm guessing the latter.

I still say they stole those from Ylvis: Not only does their fantasy football commercial borrow the surrealness of "What Does the Fox Say?" but "Football on your phone" looks and sounds an awful lot like this:
