Just reported by Bleacher Report, Adam Gase to be Bears OC.

Can he help Cutler?

Surprised he made a lateral move.

He clearly had no choice but a lateral move.

Cutler can't be helped.

Good for him. I hope he's successful there. Maybe he and Cutler will connect.

Adam Gase and John Fox will team up again in Chicago.

The Bears have reached a three-year deal with Gase to become their offensive coordinator, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported Wednesday night.

The 36-year-old Gase had been the Broncos’ offensive coordinator the last two seasons under Fox, who took the Bears’ head coaching job last week. Gase had interviewed for multiple head coaching roles this offseason, including for Denver’s job, which eventually went to Gary Kubiak.

Gase will be charged with jump-starting a Chicago offense that too often sputtered a season ago. His work with whomever starts at quarterback for the Bears will be key. The Bears have a decision to make on incumbent Jay Cutler.

I fear that these coaches might actually be able to make Jay Cutler a top tier QB. That would suck. I'm glad Gase got a job though, I am a fan of his.

It's Cutler, Buff.

I know, but I honestly think that even Cutler now has to realize the he has to overhaul his game or he won't have a job. That's never been the case before. He's always had all the leverage.

Plus, he's always been able to sling it, he just has no idea how to prevent turnovers. I suspect that having a competent coaching staff for the first time in years could actually produce some results. Or he might just be the same old Jhey. :whoknows:

I think Gase is overrated anyways, but soon we'll see if Gase is all that or if Manning made Gase.

Lovie is a Cover 2 defensive specialist who had crazy old Mike Martz running his offense and then big oaf Mike Tice. Anyway, I could be totally wrong, but I think Adam Gase is catching Cutler at exactly the right time in his career. If Cutler is ever going to be humbled, it would be after last season. He basically has nothing to lose and has already been written off.

If he put in a tiny bit of homework and tried to just reach the threshold of not being a dumpster fire turnover machine, then he's a Top 15 QB.

Its going to be a coach massacre when the frown cannon is done with these two

If I was Cutler, my 1st question to Fox wouldn't be, "Who's going to be my OC?" It would be, "So are you going to give me an OL?"

So much for rumors Fox bailed because he hated but couldn't change our game plans after Elway forced Gase on him and denied him any say in the offense. I doubt he quit to get away from the guy and immediately rehired him.

When Lovie was in Chicago, Cutler kept his canon in check because he knew his defense was playing their hearts out. As soon as Lovie and Urlacher left, the defensive side of the ball went to hell in a handbasket and the only hope the Bears had was for Cutler to just chuck it up for the football gods. As we saw in Denver, Cutler+No Defense=No Playoffs.

I think it was more Manning than Gase.

Only Jay can make Jay a top tier QB, but if he ever takes a fancy to such a notion, he's got the right staff now.

buff, stop. . .

turnovers are a part of jay cutler's genetic makeup. . . it's science!

and gase is lucky. . . sounds like he was gonna have to be a ball boy for the browns if fox didn't bail him out with a job. . .

Fox bailed Gase out. Good move by Gase seeing what was left. Elway and Manning both praised Gase over the past two years. Looks like that wore off in 2014 and Elway wanted nothing to do with him otherwise Elway would have made it work.

Gase should have left last year after Manning's record shattering season and the passing offense as a whole was destroying records. Now he has to try to duplicate what he had in Denver with Jay Cutler, coach killer. Cutler has all the talent you would want in a QB but lacks the desire to work at becoming the best. I see a flaming pile of poo for Chicago as Jay continues to fire footballs off his back foot to the opposing D.

All reports seemed to indicate Jay worked hard last season. He really wasn't the same douchey guy either. Yet he has the worst season in his career.

He doesn't even look that good throwing the ball anymore.

Always thought he'd grow into a top 7 QB eventually but I've concluded I was wrong now.

He still has a ton of arm talent, but mechanically it's still a mess.

I know, I felt dirty even making the case... But I'm a Gase fan boi. I think someone who went to the Super Bowl with Peyton Manning can't help but make Jhey Cutler a better QB.

This kind of surprised me. I figured there was an element of a Fox - Gase philosophy riff that lead to everything getting blown up. Guess it was just Fox and Elway.

They are freaking out about Gase and Brandon Marshall over in Chicago. The Bears have become Broncos East with Fox, Gase, Cutler, Marshall.
