Everyone should be ticked off at Kubiak for breaking his word to the Ravens, right? Not really.

When Kubiak announced he was staying (http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2014/story/_/id/12153191/gary-kubiak-turns-head-coaching-interviews-remain-baltimore-ravens-offensive-coordinator), he was withdrawing his name from the head coaching searches for the New York Jets (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/nyj/new-york-jets), Chicago Bears (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/chi/chicago-bears) and San Francisco 49ers (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/sf/san-francisco-49ers). He obviously didn't know his good friend and Broncos general manager John Elway was going to part ways with his head coach one day later.

It would be surprising if anyone in the Ravens organization expressed any animosity toward Kubiak. Even though he was with the Ravens for one season, he wasn't seen as someone who would intentionally mislead the team. He was a straight-shooter, not a self-promoter. His only objective was to improve the Ravens offense, which he successfully did. This is why Kubiak declined any head coaching interviews while the Ravens were in the playoffs.

The Ravens sent out something similar on their official Twitter account. They said Don't hate Kubiak and don't think we don't have a contingency plan, or something like that.

I don't think that's much of a problem with Denver's fan base. I will say it's been kind of fun watching some of the Ravens fan base get out of sorts about it.

I watched a few youtube vids of ravens fans ripping him apart, was actually a little amusing.

Any rational person understands why Kubes left. Wasn't because Baltimore was a bad spot, only because Denver HC is his dream job. Anyone in their right mind would take their dream job if offered to them. Anyone criticizing anyone for taking their dream job is an asshat and deserves the misery they put on themselves by hating someone for doing what Kubes did.

The Baltimore Sun said some of the optimism fades for Baltimore with Kubiak's departure - which obviously bodes well for us.

With the nucleus the Ravens have returning, it was reasonable to believe they would be top contenders next year.

Then, news came out Sunday night that Gary Kubiak was definitely leaving to become Denver Broncos coach, and now some optimism has subsided. It's hard to replace a coordinator like Kubiak, who had the greatest offensive mind in Baltimore since Ted Marchibroda.

Kubiak truly planned to stay in Baltimore, he had purchased land and was having a house built there and probably planned on selling his Houston house to pay for part of the new house's construction. Baltimore fans need to realize that his two homes have been Texas and Colorado, that is why he took the Texans job. He had absolutely no idea that his other long-time home would be in need for a coach when he stated he'd return - it was his dream job scenario. But I guarantee that if one of those fans got offered their dream they'd be all for it...typical hypocrites.

There some reasonable fans among the Ravens fan base who understand that this is Kubiak's dream job. There is however a common thread that the Denver job is shit job, that Kubiak will be the fall guy, and the ONLY reason Denver has been successful is Manning.

It would be like us hating JDR for taking the Oakland job. These guys are vagabonds, literally, uprooting their families and moving every few years. They know teams aren't loyal to the coaches so why should the coaches be loyal to them? It's a business.

A friend of mine at work not so reasonable but funny none the less. His post to me on FB.

No one outside Baltimore DOES blame Kubiak. I love how he's taking half their offensive assistants with him, too. :) It felt awful seeing him go to the nee-Browns a year after they aborted our first championship season since Elway retired; this restores the natural order (and justice.) Don't cry, Baltimore: You still have the NFLs best quart—bwahahahaha, I almost made it.

The Ravens fans in my office don't blame Kubes, but they blame Elway for stealing him away.

I don't think they really care. Their offense was pretty good before Kubiak too.

No it wasn't. In fact that's one of reasons Ravens fans (obviously not all of them) are so pissed. Go to their message board and you'll see.

From 29th in yards to 11th, and 25th in points to 8th: Kubiak did for the Ravens offense what Phillips did for his Texans D, and just as fast. No wonder they're pissed. :)

Baltimore hates Elway almost as much as Cleveland and Kansas City do. :D
