Hilarious how people think the NFL is run like Madden on Xbox.

Agreed. He'd be nice to have, but it's a pipedream.

Having him at D coordinator would help us get a foot up on the competition.

Ryan doesn't want to be a defensive coordinator, but he might not get a head coaching position. I'm sure he's getting paid by the Jets next season, so he could certainly sit out. I don't think it's a pipe dream that Ryan will be a DC again. Is it likely that it would be in Denver? Probably not.

We don't have time to just dip our toes in the water. Where the defense is concerned we really have to put our best foot forward.

Rex Ryan might be headed to the Worldwide Leader soon enough.

The Daily News has learned that the swashbuckling former Jets head coach will meet with ESPN executives Tuesday to discuss a possible role with the network in case he doesn't land another head coaching job.

This is what I predicted in the other thread where this came up. He'd either be a head coach or on tv.

I for one am glad we have the OP here to ground us all in reality. Where were you when people had the ridiculous notion that we might sign Peyton Manning?

I think he'd be a great tv personality. He could probably command top dollar right off the bat.

As opposed to what, becoming an astronaut? Not exactly going out on a limb with that prediction. ;)

I'm not sure why everyone thinks JDR is a HC shoo-in next year, but if he's gone would think Dennis Allen back would be the obvious move.

Rex in Denver would provide good press though.

As opposed to going back to being a coordinator.
