After his fine individual performance in defeat Monday — 83 yards rushing and a touchdown on 18 carries (4.6 yards per) and 55 yards receiving on eight catches — Broncos running back C.J. Anderson seemed to imitate fellow-Cal running back Marshawn Lynch while conducting his postgame interview.

To five different questions from the media, Anderson answered, “We played terrible,” or “We just played terrible.”

Lynch, Seattle’s star running back, answered every question following his team’s win Sunday night with “Thank you for asking.”

I don't blame the guy, at all, and nothing to apologize for, IMO. The media seems to forget that these players are people, too and after a tough loss, cut them some slack and just accept that they don't feel very much like talking.

Thanks, Abe. That sums it all up very nicely.

C.J.'s obviously a class act who just happened to make a mistake.

He had nothing to apologize for in my opinion.

Agreed. Still shows his character, though, and that's nice to see.

I don't even remember this interview being a story until he apologized for it. That means instead of 99% of athlete apologies that come because of PR pressure, he just gave this one because he felt bad about what he did. Talk about a solid dude.

Totally agree. Until CJ apologized, nothing was said locally about it.
