Add Demaryius Thomas to the Broncos' lengthy injured list

The Broncos have one of game's best receivers and are days away from facing the league's No. 2 run defense. Put two and two together and it's clear the Broncos need Demaryius Thomas more than ever Sunday.

They might not get him, though.

Thomas sat out Thursday's practice after a teammate stepped on his right ankle during Wednesday's practice. His foot wrapped, Thomas hobbled around the Broncos' practice facility Wednesday, hardly appearing in game shape.

Coach John Fox said Thomas' ankle is bruised and that "he'll be fine" but his absence leaves his status for Sunday's game against Buffalo questionable.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- As Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas limped through the locker room following Wednesday’s practice, his ankle injury became one that would bear watching this week.

Thomas was held out of Thursday’s practice. Thomas was on the practice field in workout gear, but did not participate.

“It was an ankle from [Wednesday]," said Broncos head coach John Fox. "... He got stepped on, he got cleats in the side of his foot -- bruised -- he’ll be fine.’’

But the news was not as promising for wide receiver Cody Latimer, who left Thursday's practice with concussion-like symptoms. Fox said Latimer would go through the league-mandated protocol.

Fox added that he was "not really sure" when Latimer was hurt.

"He had those symptoms -- whether he did it yesterday or did it today, sometimes there's those collisions," Fox said. "We think he had a concussion at some point."

WOW - both DT and Cody injured during practice

I posted a bunch of those Tweets in another thread. Sounds like DT is going to be okay (at least, if you can believe Fox). I feel bad for Latimer, since he didn't even get to shine in a game before getting the concussion, but him being out this week probably doesn't change our game plan any.
