For a guy who can't play in cold nor noise, Manning threw a nice over-the-shoulder TD on 3rd and long at the worlds loudest stadium. Anderson's looked nice so far, but Gase needs to get away from all-run/pass options and mix it up more, and Franklin can't blow blocks that cost us 4 yds. Still, can't complain about this start: Three-and-out on D; TD on offense.

That's what I was thinking. McManus almost always kicked in the end zone. With the way our offense can score, to me, a missed field goal now and then, was much better than giving the other team good field position when kicking off.

The pro-offense rules changes have made starting field position less important, but points are always important. Also, we play half our regular season and (hopefully) all our postseason games at Mile High, where TBs are a lot easier. Placekickers are about accuracy first and power second; power's for punters. All that said:

I wish we could start every game lke this: Three straight three-and-outs on D, ending a couple "drives" with sacks; back-to-back TDs on offense, both on 3rd down, where we we're 5/5.
