Michael Irvin looked up at the enormous stadium video screen and spotted a bigger picture regarding the Denver defense.

Peyton Manning didn't share Irvin's observations, but the Broncos quarterback was more intently focused on the moment, and screen shots of those cocky Denver defenders frolicking on the sideline were hampering his ability to call plays last Sunday night.

A team trying to win Super Bowls, though, can't have too many Peyton Mannings playing defense. Better to have an Aqib Talib, a cornerback who will mix it up physically and vocally with the other team's top receiver. Or a T.J. Ward, a strong safety who will knock the knees out of a tight end.
