I think the Broncos come through this and win, the SD game concerns me more on a short week. At least they will be in the comforts of home for two tough opponents.

If they win both, it's definitely good the rest of the way, as the schedule lightens up a bit with road games at NE and SD being the only really tough tests.

WOW! I'm anything but a Clark fan, but a third year guy who hadn't played a pro DOWN before this year? The timing's as interesting as the choice; guess Fox decided the guy he called "the best backup OT in the NFL" is JUST a backup.

He's a rookie 3rd rounder, and looked pretty rough even against benchwarmers in his few preseason snaps. I REALLY hated that pick; good OTs go before the 3rd, and we already had a ton of benchwarmer OTs: We NEEDED an OG (and still do,) because we had very few (and only one good one,) and OGs are prioritized far enough below OTs good ones can still be had in the 3rd (especially in a draft class supposedly deep at OG.) Oh, well; spilt milk now, so I'll just have to hope what we've got's good enough, even if it hasn't looked the part so far.

Play him instead of whom? Not DT, Welker or Sanders, surely, so 4-wide and bench Caldwell? Not that there's ever a GOOD time, but I'm very nervous about giving an UDFA OT his first start against Justin Smith in a huge game. Then again, Clark sucks against anyone with any kind of acceleration or agility, so maybe the loss can't be that great. The '9ers injury list looks like one of my posts, but their D's still 5th in rushing yards and 2nd in passing yards, so this won't be a cake walk; we need a big game from both our blockers and runners, because if we put it all on Manning again SF will just tee off on him while their LBs and DBs (who are very similar to Seattles) double cover EVERYONE.

If Caldwell doesn't fall on Hillmans fumble when we were finishing the game @the Jets, they get it back, so that's another save.

Absolutely. Keep 49ers on the bench, make them lose their momentum. In an ideal situation, you make this drive go the distance for this quarter. But I'm just being picky.
