The Broncos released offensive lineman Ryan Miller from the practice squad Tuesday.

Miller, 25, was a fifth-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft by Cleveland. The 6-foot-7, 320-pound lineman played football at Columbine High School and the University of Colorado.

I wonder if they did this to make room for someone else

I wonder if this has anything to do with releasing Miller

Former Lion Mikel Leshoure among RBs working out for Broncos today. Not sure if Broncos sign a back. http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_26679038/broncos-working-out-several-running-backs-after-injury …

I think they are making a room for veteran RB.

Per Klis, Leshoure and Stephens-Howling (sp?) walk without contracts.

Let's see Juwan Thompson get some carries!

Wow, the ONLY position I didn't think we could spare the Broncos. On the other hand, a fifth rounder who's yet to play a down's probably not a huge loss; if he were better than the starters, he'd BE one.

Makes sense as a preliminary to signing a new RB though, with Ball out several weeks and Thompson evidently playing hurt Sunday. I'd still rather sign a much better G than Franklin, not that I expect to find one on the midseason waiver wire. For good or ill, what we've got is pretty much what we've got for the rest of the season; it's just got be good enough for a title.

I remember there being a tremendous amount of hype surrounding Miller. Never really panned out.

Veteran runner, good in pass protection, good outlet receiver, throws an ocassional pass, already in football shape.

The Chargers signed him today.

It's really disturbing how much the talk out of SD parallels the talk out of Denver; it's all "we're doing great except for our run game; we really need to get that going" 24/7. I still don't buy their D though; as bad as it was the last two seasons (ESPECIALLY 2012,) I don't think our former OFFENSIVE coordinator's turned it around just like that.

If they need another RB to replace Ball, why not promote Kapri Bibbs? The fact that they would consider bringing in an outside RB (who didn't go through training camp or the pre-season and wouldn't know the blocking system and plays) just doesn't show much confidence in Bibbs.

Sad, because I rather liked him, and wanted to see what he could do this season. And when Ball went down I just assumed they'd promote Bibbs to the 53 man roster to have another RB and then put him back when Ball returned. The thing about Kapri is that he's strong like Jawann Thompson, but is more explosive. Remember that running TD in the preseason? He just accelerated through the hole and exploded into the end zone. Nice pop.

That's a good point; they could bring Bibbs up for a couple weeks until Ball's healthy and he'd still have PS eligibility left next year if we still want him but still don't think he's ready. If we're just talking backups, that makes a lot more sense financially than getting into a bidding war with SD and whomever else over castoffs.
