As John Elway sits behind his well-kept desktop, to his right are sliding glass doors to a walk-out balcony that overlooks the Broncos' practice field.

With a swivel of his chair, Elway looked out Tuesday to watch the team he built tune up with a bye-week practice.

It's a bit early for a state-of-the-team reflection from the Broncos' general manager and director of football operations, but the bye week shows up when the schedule says so.

This was one of the most vacant interviews I've seen lately.

Never mind, thought it was the one on the Broncos website.

Good quotes from John. Basically:
- likes the toughness and competitive fire on the team, even with early mistakes and missteps
- The OL has to improve
- Scheme needs tweaking, especially in the run game
- Not precise enough, missing little details on both sides of the ball. Consistency is shooting us in the foot.
- DT will be fine
- Montee has been doing his job, maybe more than his job. The run game is not a problem with the RBs.

Can't disagree with any of that. :salute:
