At its best, Twitter is the bleeding edge of news—a place where you can find raw information on world events hours before it's broadcast on television.

More often, however, Twitter is a peanut gallery where anonymous individuals lob rotting cabbage and poorly informed sentences at one another to pass the angry interlude between their birth and death.

The worst part is, sometimes those anonymous hecklers don’t even aim their ugliness at the correct person.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall grew accustomed to being mistaken – in name only – for the NFL’s other Brandon Marshall, the much more famous wide receiver now with the Chicago Bears. But sometimes having the same name as one of the NFL’s most famous wide receivers can get exhausting.

Monday night was one of those times, especially after the Bears’ Marshall suffered a leg injury during the Bears’ Monday Night Football game against the New York Jets.

Hundreds of Twitter users flooded the wrong Marshall’s timeline, many of them berating Marshall for not catching enough passes. Some implored him to get back on the field. Others cursed at him. Most seemed concerned about their fantasy teams, while others were confused about how Marshall could be tweeting and replying during the game.

Well that's pretty dumb on their part. Bet they thought they were getting a steal in the 10th round. Lol

Hey, man, it's the bye week; you ain't s'posed to be playin'. What you gonna do when the Broncos play the Bears in the Conference Championship, forsooth? Stupid football players.

I especially liked the guy tweeting how Marshall (the FORMER Bronco) not playing because he didn't want to worsen an injury was "selfish" because he's ignoring the "needs" of fantasy football team "owners." It's not even a real freakin' SPORT, geniuses, just piggy-backing on one; he's supposed to put his health, million-dollar career and an ACTUAL teams championship on the line for the sake of your paper mache Lombardi "Trophy"? Talk about self-absorbed.
