Should've been TD Caldwell; instead he had to make a great catch and hold on to get it to the 1. Tick tock, Oz....

Who had the Int, btw? Apparently the Dallas channel decided I wanted to be sold worthless crap more than I wanted to see the game.

Oz loves these deep throws, this time to Latimer. Thought Latimer had a chance there to catch that by climbing up on the CB's shoulder. Peyton has his helmet on as if he's about to come on the field.

From what I've seen in training camp and preseason games best chance for player cut by somebody else to join #Broncos roster is at returner.

Jeff Legwold @Jeff_Legwold · 10m

The #Broncos have used S Duke Ihenacho in practice on multiple special teams units as if they plan to keep him.

Jeff Legwold @Jeff_Legwold · 36m

If the #Broncos want to stick to keeping just eight in DL, will be a tough call all around. they're getting production all over depth chart

He only ran 2 or 3 times though, in the 2:00 drill at the end (i.e. Dallas was playing pass, so Oz was getting pounded, but still moving the ball well.) Anderson was in for all our other possessions, and he ran pretty well, too.

Cowboys announcers noted as the half ended it'll be "defensive line by committee" in Dallas this year, but even their backups have been blowing by Schofield and Cornick; that's the bad news.

Good news: Oz stood in there and made some nice throws, including a big 3rd and long from about the Dallas 40 where he picked up the conversion while getting it by DEs from BOTH sides, and the deep one over the middle to set up the PAT FG. Without a sack and an incomplete into the back of Painters helmet in between, that last pass is a TD.

Even the Cowboys second teamers look as one would expect of a team switching from 3-4 to 4-3 and losing its NT, best DE and best LB, but Oz still got too GOOD a look.

Burse is looking damn good Dont know if that punt earlier was a real fumble
He didn't catch it, so yeah; I'm not even sure there should've been a penalty since it was a live ball after the touch and drop. I'm still not sold on Burse; running out 7-8 yds deep and getting planted just past the 10 was bad, the fumbled fair catch was bad, and even that last one was a nice return, but if he doesn't make that first guy miss, refusing to fair catch could've gotten him hit and fumbling. In the regular season, the first guy there won't be a guy NE cut a few days ago.

Vickerson-just a damn beast.Cant see that guy getting cut. No freakin way
It's down to his health and the teams confidence in it. Unrein's been first or second to the ball a loooot of plays, too, from a DE spot Vickerson can't play.

EDIT: And as soon as I say that, Unrein scores the 3rd down sack (almost a safety) from DT, then Burse has a huge return where the punter saves a TD. Barret had a nice sack the play before, too, but I'm not sure we'll keep an 8th LB even with Trevathan hurt, and all the #2 spots look pretty solid.

Nice short TD run by Bibbs; he had a hole, but not a big one, and squirted through it to take off for the end zone in an instant. He gets a few long runs, it'll be all Local Boy Makes Good and Thompson will have a fight for that #4 spot.

What happened was all our kickers were awful (hence one's gone now) and their 3rd QB was better than our 2nd QB. Simple as that.

As I said, if welker misses significant time. He fits more naturally into welker's role than any other receiver we have, and he's playing his ass off right now. Sanders is a slot guy, sure, but he doesn't do the underneath routes that welker does. Burse does that and loves it.

I could see Sanders or Caldwell either one in the slot, and don't see Burse as #2 there or anywhere. Maybe eventually, but not now. Just MHO. He should make the final 53 though, and then anything can happen.

I know, but doing it in the final minutes of the 4th is so much bigger than doing it other times. It doesn't matter here, because we curbstomped Dallas and their offense only managed a FG all night, but if Hillman had delivered as much against the Ravens first team as Thompson just did against Dallas' second/third, we probably win the SB two years ago.

Wait, you said the other day it was Prater's fault we didn't win the Super Bowl. I guess fault lies with whichever player you are deciding to bash at the time, huh?
I believe I said there's plenty of blame to go 'round for that one. If Prater doesn't kick the ground before the ball, we head to halftime up 10 instead of tied, and win that game. If Hillman gets >1 first down in the last 3:00, we run out the clock and win by 7. If Moore doesn't fail the EASIEST most BASIC safety task, we still win by 7. If we EVER score in 1+ OT periods, we still win. If Manning doesn't throw a pick on our end, we still win.

Think that covers everyone; we can further note that if Holliday doesn't return a kick AND punt for a TD (setting a playoff record in the process) we lose by 2 TDs in regulation. So maybe the real moral is Fox didn't get a very talented—STACKED—roster ready to play. Good thing we haven't had any other playoff games like that, huh?

My original point was that if kickers were a dime a dozen, why would you trade for one? Why not just pick one up since they're so easy to get?

We gave up a seventh round pick for him and IIRC it's a conditional pick. There is an abundance of kickers out there so if Denver decides to cut him they'll find another kicker.

They saw one they liked and if they cut him (before week 4) they haven't given up the draft pick, so it's a wash and they can turn to the FA wire. If he's really good, he's worth the pick. After last night, the former scenario looks to be more true.
