KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Chiefs right tackle Donald Stephenson on Friday was suspended for the season's first four games for violation of the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

"I'm extremely sorry that I failed to check with the NFL, NFLPA, or Chiefs medical team before I took a medication that requires a therapeutic use exemption," Stephenson said in a statement Friday. "The rules are strict, and without a TUE, the consequence is a four-game suspension.

"I apologize to the Hunt family, John Dorsey, Coach [Andy] Reid and his staff, my teammates, and our awesome Chiefs fans. It is not a mistake I will ever make again."

Funny, when Richard Sherman took Adderall without a therapeutic use exemption he claimed he accidentally got it by mistakenly grabbing a teammates water bottle during a game, so the league overturned his suspension and let him 'roid rage his way through the NFCCG postgame interview and on to a Super Bowl title. No word on which of his teammates had the spiked water bottle, or any suspension for said teammate, even though the therapeutic use exemption STILL doesn't allow Adderall use DURING GAMES. Moral: Make a few Pro Bowls before you get caught, Donald. ;)
