ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Barrel-chested, hale and hearty, Derek Wolfe looks stronger than at any point in his NFL career.

"I feel better than I’ve ever felt," he said.

There's no physical evidence of the struggles he endured last season. The year began with a harrowing spinal-cord injury in the preseason at Seattle Aug. 17 and took a frightening turn when he suffered a seizure on Nov. 29.

In hindsight, Wolfe knows what went wrong in 2013. He now knows what could have prevented the issues that followed in the months after he was wheeled away from CenturyLink Field on a stretcher.

I really, really like what I hear from this dude. He's going to play, and I wish him good health throughout his career and thereafter.

This is good news. Wolfe was beginning to play so well towards the end of his rookie year that he was commanding double teams inside. With Von and Demarcus on the outside together, that won't be an option for most teams. Between him and Sly, I expect to see more of an inside pass rush than we've seen in quite some time in Denver.

Prior to his injury during his sophomore year he was commanding double teams more than anyone else in our front four. I believe it was greater than 40% of the time.
