DENVER (CBS4)- CBS4 has learned that John Elway III, the 24-year-old son of the Broncos executive, was arrested and jailed over the weekend for domestic violence.

He was later released on $550 cash bond. He was formally held on charges of assault and disturbing the peace.

Sources familiar with the case say that in the last several days, Elway, who goes by the nickname ‘Jack,’ allegedly pushed a 23-year-old woman out of a moving car near the intersection of Colfax Avenue and Lipan Street.

Maybe it was his girlfriend and she told him that she cheated on him. That would deserve a push out of a moving car.

I was about to go on a rant about what a ***** he was for hitting a woman -- but sometimes you just gotta throw a woman out of a car...

And considering she has "no visible injuries", I'm guessing her definition of a "moving" car is a bit of BS.

Ever see the Mythbusters where they throw the "dead driver" out of the car and take over the wheel? It's a fairly difficult maneuver.

The answer to your speed question is "she had no visible injuries".

You haven't lived if you haven't had an occasion to tell a woman to G.T.F.O. of your car...

I know this particular intersection quite well, which is why I believe she's full of shit. But I don't want to assume the worst in people, so I'll wait to hear more. This sounds like a case of mediafleas on the Jackballs. I mean, maybe he was being a D-Bag so I won't pass judgment. Just gotta get the details.

I have always been under the impression that the boy was a punk. That's just my opinion. I remember seeing his profile picture somewhere. It looked like Kid Rock and himself flipping the bird. Of course, I don't know him personally. So I can't say for sure. He still looked like a big doucher in that pic.

Indeed, but Elway himself does represent the Broncos. All im saying is players would look at this and feel that their personal lives should not be put in the public eye either.

I dont know this intersection but I will say there were spots on Colfax as a white woman i would not have wanted to walk down the street alone

My ex tried that one time with me- we were in SF and he got lost so he got pissed and blamed me and tried physically kicking me out of the car. So I am a bit biased when it comes to this - its a dick head move on the guys part regardless but I guess its better then Chris Brown"ing" her in the car.

It's near the light rail stop at Metro State and the Convention Center. It's pretty tame. There's a pull-out for passenger unloading.

I can imagine scenarios where either or both parties are in the wrong.

And OB, next time be a better navigator, mk? Hey, at least he didn't try mentally kicking you out of the car, a la X-files or something. That'd be bad.

In an alleged fight with his girlfriend, Jack Elway, the son of Broncos executive vice president of football operations and general manager John Elway, ripped out pieces of the woman's hair and pushed her to the ground.

The younger Elway then fled the scene, leaving his vehicle near the intersection of West Colfax Avenue and North Lipan Street, according to documents filed at the Denver courthouse.

John Albert Elway III, 24, was charged early Saturday morning with assault and disturbing the peace, police reported. He was released from the Denver jail on a $550 bond after being arrested at his father's Cherry Hills Village home. His next court date is Thursday.

The earth is moving around the sun at 67,000 mph, so technically she could argue that the car was moving even though relative to the surface of the earth it was stationary.
