2014 NFL Draft: Draftees get to select their own walk-up music

The NFL Draft is already a gaudy spectacle. It's the most over analyzed non-sporting event in sports.

So naturally, the NFL wants to make it more gaudy.

How so?

Draftees at Radio City Music Hall will be allowed to select their own personal walk-up music for when their names get called.

The more and more of a spectacle the draft becomes, the less and less interested I become in it. I'll probably watch a bit of it Thursday night out of habit, but it's kinda starting to get out of control. By the time the draft actually gets here I am always so sick of the endless speculation and hype that I almost don't even care about it anymore.

idk... no different than relief pitchers picking out their music for when they are called to the mound. I actually dont have a problem with this at all.

Me neither, I don't have a problem with it at all. These players all earned this day and this is maybe the biggest moment of their lives so far, so it's really cool to enjoy it with them. I like how the draft has become more mainstream and is also on prime time TV for a few nights. Just helps curb the craving for football a bit and makes it exciting. Every season I really look forward to draft day, one of my fav times of the year.
