The Tennessee Titans will sign Wesley Woodyard to a four-year deal worth $16 million, the agent for the former Denver Broncos linebacker told ESPN's Josina Anderson.

Love WW!! I hope he is successful there. Does this mean I have to drop him as my adoptee??

:( This makes me sad. He's a great guy in the community. Gonna miss that.

I wish he had kept playing at a high level. I was rooting for him but best to luck to him in Tenn.

I wish him well. Always one of my favorites. I still remember how happy I was when we signed him as an UDFA. I said at the time that it was insane that no one drafted him. In college he was the best player on the field every game I watched him play.

He will be missed. Can you image how good he'd be if he were prototypical NFL sized?

I think he got hurt and couldn't play the way he did in 2012. He might heal up though and come back. Cold business, football. One minute toast of the town and the next...

Back when the Titans had Steve McNair and Jeff Fisher I really rooted for them. They were about the closest thing to a #2 team I've ever had. Maybe Woody going there will renew my interest in them.

Too much money if it's all guaranteed but I wish him well except against us.

Sorry G-Money, I know you liked WW. Suprised he sort of fell off the map here in Denver. I think mainly because he wasnt playing the position he is meant to play and that's WLB. Sort of hard to justify giving him a deal when Danny T is playing his brains out too.

Decker, WW, Moreno, Beadles and Champ. Yeah....sucks to see some favorite Broncos go but I understand the business side of it. Good luck to them all.

Titans home games:

Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants

I could go see Beadles with the Jags or Decker with the Jets. Browns and Texans might be okay games.

The Broncos' coaching staff told Wesley Woodyard he was not a middle linebacker.

The coaches felt early last season second-year player Danny Trevathan was better at the weakside, then late in the season that 36-year-old Paris Lenon was better in the middle.

Woodyard and the Tennessee Titans beg to differ.

Woodyard signed a four-year, $16 million deal Friday with the Titans, who will start him at middle linebacker.

"I'm always trying to prove myself," Woodyard said. "The way it ended was a big surprise to me. Having the coaches tell you they want to rest you for the playoffs and then when the playoff time comes that didn't happen — I've never been the type of guy to let anybody tell me I can't play. I'm excited for the new opportunity I have."

During his six seasons with the Broncos, Woodyard became one of the team's most popular players inside the locker room and with the fan base. He was selected co-captain in each of the five seasons since his rookie year. Off the field, Woodyard's charitable work made him three-time nominee as the Broncos' Walter Payton Man of Year.

"My foundation, we're not going to up and leave Denver," he said. "We're still going to have the football camp, we still have the Toy Drive in place. I made some great friends in the community, people like the mayor (Michael Hancock) so I'm still connected in Denver.

"I wish my teammates the best. I'm sure Danny is going to step up and be the leader of that defense. I'd like to personally thank (owner) Pat Bowlen for the opportunity he's given me for the last six years and the amazing fans of Denver.

"I'm going to miss that place, but even though I'm gone I won't forget and I'll always be there working in the community."

I so love this dude. Carving out quite a nice career for himself, and in the right defense he's got a lot more to give. Thanks for everything, Wes. :salute:

I think he never should have left WLB. Had they put Danny T at MLB and it worked out then we would have been set at all 3 LB positions. I think Danny T is more built to play MLB than Woody was but Woody is a little smarter upstairs.

Wasn't the same after the shoulder injury. Happened against Dallas I believe.

Yes, in the Dallas game an offensive lineman stepped on his neck when he was on his back in the scrum. He was down on the field for quite some time, left the game, then missed a lot of time after that. I think the loss of Big Vick affected his play too.

he was one of our best defensive players in 2012 - and would likely have been again in 2013 had he not gotten injured and been played out of position - i liked Woody, i wish we had kept him.

Glad he is doing well for himself
