Forward Glen Davis has decided to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers, clearing the way for the Brooklyn Nets to sign the NBA's first openly gay player, Jason Collins to a 10-day contract, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Collins, who will be the first openly gay player in North American professional sports history, reached an agreement on a 10-day contract with the Brooklyn Nets, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
As Davis decided on Sunday to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers, the Nets are moving on to Plan B – bringing Collins back into the NBA, sources said. Collins, in Los Angeles where the Nets play the Lakers on Sunday, plans to meet with Nets officials there soon, sources said.
