The Broncos have a decision to make soon on receiver Wes Welker, who is due a $3 million bonus if he’s still on the roster in March. Considering Welker will turn 33 in May, is coming off a season in which he had two concussions, and didn’t have quite the same level of production in his first season in Denver as he had in his previous six seasons in New England, there have been some questions about whether the Broncos will pay Welker that bonus, or release him.

But when Broncos coach John Fox was asked that question at the Scouting Combine, he indicated that he doesn’t think there’s a tough decision to make at all: He expects Welker to remain in Denver for the second year of the two-year contract he signed in 2013.

“Wes Welker is under contract, so I don’t think it’s a tremendous decision,” Fox said.

There’s a good chance receiver Eric Decker will leave Denver in free agency, but with Welker returning alongside Demaryius Thomas and Julius Thomas, Peyton Manning will have three of his top four targets back this year.
