That would be 4 mil more than the early projections. Nice

I wouldn't get too excited. The agents for all the players get them to demand more money too. It's a wash.

And the players can tell the agents to **** off. I know I would.

Last I heard we were 12.4 under the cap. A little champ restructure and cut a few guys and we could easily be around 20 mil. That's plenty to keep our guys and land a couple solid fa. While having leftover room for Von and dt next year.

You would ask your agent to get you less money?

Lol, OK.

 Wut?

The next player who tells his agent to **** off for trying to get him more money will be the absolute first.

INDIANAPOLIS -- For the past few weeks many in the league believed the salary cap for the 2014 season would be about $126.3 million per team. But with ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter’s report Thursday that the cap will show a bigger bump from this past season’s $123 million per team, coming in at $130 million, the Denver Broncos will have slightly more room to work with as they go about the business of filling the depth chart.

AND

When free agency opens in March, the Broncos will have to be under the salary cap with their top 51 contracts. At the moment, those top 51 salary-cap figures for players under contract amounts to $117.8 million. By a rule put in with the current collective bargaining agreement, the Broncos can also roll over any available cap space from this past season into 2014.

That figure is $6.573 million. So, including the rollover, the Broncos actually will have about $18.673 million worth of cap space to work with in the coming weeks. And that is before the Broncos do, or don’t, talk to Champ Bailey about his $10 million cap figure for 2014 -- the second highest on the team -- or Chris Kuper’s $5.915 million cap figure, seventh highest on the team.

While listening to Pat Kirwin on SiriusXM yesterday, and he stated we currently only $3 million over the cap, not $12 million. If they only count the top 51 contracts and not all the players currently under contract, I could see the $3 million number being correct.

Wish I had access to the same information as he does.

None of those under contract already will get a dime more unless they get their contract redone. This will go to those getting new contracts this year.

Of that apx 30 million after cuts and possibly contract reductions (champ, Tamme) I'd guess that rookie contracts will be about 9 mil and then they will hold back 10 mil for IR replacements during the year.
So net spendable bronco bucks is like 11 mil. Spend it wisely John.

Good news for cap-strapped franchises league-wide.

NFL Media's Albert Breer reported Tuesday that the salary cap is expected by most to climb north of the $130 million figure discussed last week and well above the previously projected $126.3 million for 2014, according to team and union sources.

The NFL and NFL Players Association are in talks Tuesday to set the cap, which three sources pegged as more than $130 million. One team told Breer it expected the cap to be closer to $129 million.

Over or under? I haven't seen anything saying the Broncos are over, in fact, they have leftover cap space to roll over.

OTC currently has us at $121.7. That includes Champ at 10 mil and Kuper at 5.9 mil. I would expect after restructures and cuts, we should be in the range of 12-15 under. We have 3.9 of dead money to add to that, but a little over 2 mil belongs to DRC, who hopefully we re-sign and that eliminates that issue

I find the numbers of that amusing.
$75.1 mil on offense
$38.9 and change on defense
And three players on ST for 7.6 mil.

A bit out of whack imo

They estimate us with $16.4 mil of space left.

I agree with cuts and such about 30 mil to spend

I think DRC has to resign before he's a FA for that dead money to come off cap.

The salary cap is set to make a big jump in 2014.

NFL Media's Albert Breer reported Thursday the cap is expected to be set at $133 million, according to union and team sources. The official number could come as soon as Friday, according to Breer.

The $133 million salary cap figure would be an increase of nearly $10 million per team over 2013. The cap is primed to soar higher in 2015, after money from the league's new television deals enter the equation.

The 2014 NFL salary cap will be $133 million, NFL Media's Albert Breer reported Friday. According to Breer, below are the following official franchise and transition tag numbers per position for next season. The franchise tag amount is the average of the top five salaries at each position for each year, while the transition tag starts with the average of the top 10 salaries for each season at each position. Teams can only use each tag for one player per season.
