Clearly not the same player, however I think Riley is tougher than Decker. Hes big, blocks and would be a lot cheaper.

Peyton will make him better.

Thoughts?

Riley is one of Foles favorite targets and they will lose Maclin to FA. I highly doubt Philly lets him walk.

I love Cooper, he and I share a lot of similar viewpoints.

We will either re-sign Decker or rebuild in the draft. No sense in signing a free agent WR who will cost nearly as much as Decker but not know the system.

There aren't alot of FA WR that will be getting $10M/year

So you don't think Cooper and Decker will fetch similar $$?

Would love it if Decker walks. But I have to agree with others here that it would
be unlikely that Philly would let him go anywhere.

Not even close. Cooper has about half the production of Decker and both came into the league the same year.

I know Decker has been more productive - but he has benefited from our system... I view them as similar talents. I'd be surprised if there is a wide gap between their contracts.

No way. I think Decker can be replaced on the cheap.

I think Decker could fetch 10, Cooper more like 6. If the market is low 8 and 4, respectively.

If Cooper comes out making as much as Decker he got lucky and is overpaid, IMO.

If Decker is worth 10, then Cooper is worth 6-7. They may be somewhat similarly talented, but Decker has the numbers to back it up

I think an Alexander signing would be interesting if it was very low and on a 1 year deal. Hes a huge talent but who know if he could last a season

His injuries issues is precisely why I wouldn't sign him to be Decker's replacement. He has talent but it's that clique a player's best ability is his availablity. That just hasn't happened with him.

Elway is not dumb to lose this outstanding WR Decker. I am sure they will work it out sometimes this spring/summer.

I actually think Hakeem Nicks will come very cheap yet has a ton of upside. If he is healthy going into next season and we lose Decker then Nicks would be a solid #2.

A white WR to replace another white WR?

I wouldn't spend more than $3 mil/yr for Decker's replacement and then take a WR in the 3rd or 4th round. That way you have depth and save money at the same time.

I don't care about the politics or what libs labeled him. Can he play football?
That's all they care about anybody these days, isn't it?

you also have to ask who was the QB in Philly and after that what was the coaching style.

Cooper did not have near the coaching (andy reid run first) or QB that Decker has had since coming into the NFL. Foles and the new coach have done wonders for him.

WR's like DT's generally take the longest time frame to get up to NFL speed, yes there are exceptions to both positions, but it took most but not all of mannings WRs 2-3 years to get onto his wave lengths.
