It may seem like an annual occurrence, but it has actually been eight years since Tom Brady and Peyton Manning have done battle in the AFC Championship Game. With so much history on the line in addition to the consequences of the game itself, it is no surprise that AFC Championship tickets are selling for more than any other ticket in the NFL so far this season. They have also risen substantially since the Brady-Manning matchup was set. Tickets for the Patriots-Broncos showdown are now listing at an average of $798.63 on the secondary market, representing an 8.3% premium over NFC Championship tickets. And while NFC Championship tickets are likely to decline in price given that there is a supply of nearly 18,600 listed for sale, the same may not be the case for AFC Championship tickets as there are only about 4,700 on the market as of Monday morning. The average sale price thus far amongst the early birds to scoop up tickets checks in at $579.22, so most fans are indeed looking for bargain seats at the moment. Currently, the least expensive ticket on the market is available for $365 dollars. The most expensive ticket available is a 30-yardline first row seat in Section 107, certainly a prime location to take in the game. This cream of the crop ticket is listed for a whopping $3,800 dollars.

Given the high profile Peyton Manning-Tom Brady rematch in the AFC championship, it's not surprising that ticket resellers are seeing an opportunity to cash in — fake tickets included.

Denver police and the Broncos on Tuesday warned fans of possible counterfeit tickets moving through secondary markets — generally defined as anything not acquired from the ticket office at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Ticketmaster or NFL Ticket Exchange.

Counterfeit tickets, especially to the biggest home game the Broncos have had in years, will be out there, specifically on sites such as Craigslist. Police say fans try to get in the stadium at nearly every game, only to be told their tickets are counterfeit.
