View Full Version : Nate Irving eager to contribute in place of injured Von Miller

When he played, Von Miller could have been lined up as a linebacker or as a defensive end.

He might have rushed the passer from the right side or left side, or stunted from the middle. He might have faked a pass rush and dropped into coverage or started back in coverage and came in on a blitz.

There will be less tricks now that Nate Irving has replaced the injured Miller at strongside linebacker. The strong side means playing on the tight end's side. Ready, set, hit.

I so hope so. If Irving can live up to the expectations they have had for him for 3 years, he will be an asset. Its about time he starts lightin it up
My concern for him is that he has been fragile and can he make it through a full game without getting hurt

Nate played well today. He's solid against the run.

From what I saw, he looked solid...

...I just remain (overall) concerned with the pass rush of our DL in the playoffs...

I wouldn't expect any help from officiating, that's for sure.

Yeah...

...particularly if it's against thug, molesting DBs like the Seac0cks have.

Too true, how a team gets away with their style in today's NFL is a mystery.

I was a big proponent of Nate when we drafted him and i still believe he can be a contributor from us. Yesterday was a great indication of what he can do. Now I hope he can do it against the big dogs in the playoffs. He has a lot to prove still, but loved his play yesterday.

If Nate stays healthy, he is going to have an impact in the playoffs

It's the same thing Talib does. They grab and hold on every play. I think they just assume the officials aren't going to call it on every play, so it's a winning scenario for them.

Can someone put together a highlight film of Nate Irving? It will help us get psyched for the playoffs. tia

It'll be short. (love you Nate, hope to have a lot more highlights to add after the playoffs)

Nasty Nate adds just that to this defense. Nastiness. He doesn't tackle lightly. He brings a thump. He can't replace Von on this roster, but he does add something that this D desperately needs. Toughness and physicality behind the line.
