I want to be able to play games on my computer, and I don't know shit about the internal workings of a computer.

So how hard will it be to change a video card? Should I have someone do it for me?

take off cover, push on PCIx retention clip and pull out card.
insert new card, attach power to it if it needs it.
close cover
remove old driver and install new one.

If you're worried about zapping anything, just make sure your free hand is touching the metal base.

I am sure if you search youtube you can find a video showing you how to do it sneak's. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=replacing+video+card&sm=3

That is the beauty of computers. There is very little I am afraid to attempt when upgrading/repairing one even though I am not incredibly tech savvy. Plus its cool to just be able to upgrade them to play games instead of buying a whole new console every generation.
