View Full Version : Broncos' defense virtually unrecognizable with playoffs around corner

On Dec. 16, 2012, the Ravens lined up Michael Oher, Jah Reid, Matt Birk, Bobbie Williams and Kelechi Osemele along their offensive line when they faced the Broncos in Baltimore and lost 34-17.

Less than a month later, in the playoffs against the Broncos, Baltimore's line had Bryant McKinnie and Marshal Yanda replacing Williams and Reid. The Ravens upset the Broncos and three weeks later, that same line was on the field as celebrations of their Super Bowl title began at the Superdome.

Take note, Broncos defense. It might not be too late to change.

rest - including things about Woodyard

The biggest factor is Von. He's back to being a dominating force. If he's not getting double and triple teamed, he's getting pressure or getting held on nearly every passing down. Rahim, Champ, and Wolfe will be back for the playoffs. This D will be fine.

Woodyard has slipped since being the Mike. Danny gets to play some this last week shows Del Rio is not sitting on the fact that our offense always saves the day. When Ravens did the change, they had a coaching change.

Also, can someone invite Zambini back over and relieve us from him at the Mane? Chef Luigi aka Zam is killing us.

You have an option - do not post on the Mane - just post here

The Ravens didn't win the SB because they plugged two new guys into their line (the WORST thing that can be done to offensive lines, whose continuity and cooperation are critical.) They won the SB because the League Office got misty-eyed over the announced retirement and humanitarian legacy of a man who murdered two people. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uj2dmQruJXs

Until there's something more tangible and credible against Woodyard than PFFs bunk, I'll believe Fox and Co. I'm more interested in why they started Lenon instead of Johnson.

Ravage!!!

The IRONY is OFF THE CHARTS when in two consecutive sentences you try and pass off a conspiracy from the NFL as to why the Raven won the Super Bowl, and then turn around and suggest you need something more "credible" than PFF suggesting Woodyard is grading out poorly. Wow.

There is a lot more evidence that Woodyard is being sat down and not playing due to his play than PFF. Namely, the coach saying that the other players have EARNED their playing time. That VERY blatantly says that Woodyard has NOT earned playing time.

Actually, that's an implication at best, and really just an inference. Just because the performance of others demands playing time doesn't mean Woodyard or anyone else is playing badly.

As for Lewis, I thought the only good thing last year was retirement would finally end him being plastered across our screens and hero-worshipped—nope, he's just in the booth with the same wild-eyed ferocious ranting that's made him such a cuddly teddy bear since the murders. The NFL's TOTALLY not riding his jock, even a little. Indys wildcard featured tons of hinky calls, and our divisional round game was one of the worst examples of officiating I've ever seen. I quit watching games after that; the SB "winner" was obvious.

Ask Zam what he thinks about Brock Osweiler's role on the team, you won't regret it.
