On one hand, I'm glad it wasn't fans fighting. But it's worse that a child lost his dad.

The man who apparently did not belong in the vehicle died.

Police officials did not say whether the two in custody were the father and his son or not.

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A man is dead following a struggle in an Arrowhead Stadium parking as the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos played each other.

Kansas City police Chief Darryl Forte called it a homicide in a tweet. Other police officials called it a death investigation.

Police officials said the struggle occurred in Lot A during the game. The man was rushed to an area hospital where he died.

Forte said two suspects are in custody.

Police sources tell KCTV5 that a man and his son had gone to their vehicle during the game. When they arrived, they found another man rifling through the vehicle and a fight broke out. The man who apparently did not belong in the vehicle died.

Police officials did not say whether the two in custody were the father and his son or not.

This occurred exactly one year after Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher killed Kasandra Perkins, the mother of his infant daughter, and then drove to Arrowhead where he killed himself in front of horrified team leaders.

Different police sources are providing different information on exactly which one of the three men involved in the fight died.

Officers were called to the scene at 5:20 p.m. The game started at 3:25 p.m....

So Narrowhead doesn't have parking lot patrols? Why do thieves think they have free reign to rummage through the parking lot while everyone is spending four hours away from their vehicles - except for one unfortunate father and son.

Inside is a tightly-screened armed camp but, outside, KC's crime community can forage for valuables? I'd be upset if I were a season ticket holder there.

Honestly mile high isn't much better, and I doubt any stadium is. If you walk into a parking lot and act like your supposed to be there no on will say anything. Unless there is a gated lot with ID checks it won't change

What are the odds that the owners of a vehicle go outside just as a thief is breaking into it? I smell something fishy here.

Now it says the son ran back to the stadium, the thief died.
