Summed up in a tweet the article includes:
Temperature at Arrowhead is 15 degrees. High forecast to be 32. SD QB Philip Rivers has 3 career starts in temps 32 or colder and lost all
You should've gone to Houston, Peyton; you'd be a one hour flight from home, feel like you were there most of the time, and Reliant Energy is more than happy to close the roof and turn on the heat on the rare occassions it gets <40°. Tamba Hali and Justin Houston are supposed to get MRIs Monday; presumably Knowshon and DRC will also. Hopes and prayers everyone's fine.

You have turned into one of the worst, most annoying, chicken little posters since Denver signed Manning and you lost your Tebow.

And by the way, the forecast is 51 degrees with a low of 40 in Kansas City next Sunday.

So, get a ******* clue.

Yeah, the quote posted above was about yesterday's game, and about Phillip Rivers, not Peyton Manning. By the way, Rivers WON that game and put up almost 400 yards. What that has to do with next week, I'm not sure.

And you're the object of everybody's affection  You're constantly abrasive, smug, and a know it all. The Teboi/Tebow card used by the likes of you is one of the most ridiculous tactics ever.

Personally, I find Joel to be one of the best posters on this forum. His posts are usually reasoned very well, supported, and from a non-emotional point of view.

HOw many times has Denver "curb stomped" the chiefs at arrowhead in November? :noidea:

The forecast I saw was about 30-50 degrees.

Is Joel a Broncos fan or Texans fan?

Not really sure. He also likes the Browns, and apparently, the Chiefs.

50 degrees is about perfect. 20% chance of rain....

I also like the Texans, Redskins, and Buccaneers. But I'm happy Peyton didn't go to any of those places.

I fully expect the Broncos to win at Arrowhead next week. The Chiefs offense is a joke, and their defense is soft without their pass rushers. Broncos-31, Chiefs- 13.

I thought about starting a Denver @ Kansas City Injury Updates thread. I'd like to be able to keep up with who will and won't be playing on both teams next Sunday. Someone should do that.

He's talked about how Bernie Kosar and the Browns is what made him love football.

I thought he was an Oilers fan and enjoys the Texans as well. I love the Bengals, and I sort of think the Broncos are alright.

I guess he's all over the place. I don't remember the Browns, but the Houston connection is true. Also, I remember him talking about liking the Cowboys and taking heat because we lost our first Super Bowl to them.

He likes football. He doesn't seem to be a diehard fan of any one team, per se. I assume he really likes Denver, as he spends a lot of time here. But, one could assume that I really like Denver, as I spend a lot of time here. Hmm, time to drop my attendance down a notch!

That's the approach I try to maintain, but I admit it was hard to be non-emotional yesterday. Champions don't blow 24 point leads (you know they're going for turnovers: They MUST.) Champions finish games. They don't let scrub QBs send playoff games to OT with a 70 yd Hail Mary TD, then win it when we toss them an Int in FG range. Or blow at least a tie by handing ANOTHER team the ball in FG range. Remember when we came back from 24 down, how everyone said, "this is why their poseur teams couldn't win playoff games even with homefield advantage throughout"? That's what the Pats are saying about us right now.

It's a measure of the quality of rebuttals when they can offer nothing but references to a QB who hasn't played in two years. Which is also how long it's been since we won a playoff game.

Okay, fine, so the KC forecast (a week out) says 50°: What's the forecast for January? What about in Foxborough? What about at Mile High?

Average January high in Denver? 43.

The forecast I saw was about 30-50 degrees.

Is Joel a Broncos fan or Texans fan?
Both, and in that order. Then the Cowboys (it's really hard for a Landry fan to like them under Jerry; according to Landrys widow, even HE rooted for the Giants after Jerry fired him.) Then the Vikings, the NFCs answer to the Oilers. Speaking of which, no, MO, I don't like the Browns; too many bad memories of them beating the Oilers (Dexter Manley got suspended for cocaine, but apparently it was OK for Kevin Mack to use steroids.) Same with the Dallas Texans DOT win denying Houstons attempt to add a third AFL Championship after winning the leagues first two.

Not a Redskins fan either; as a Cowboys fan, I respect them (far more than the Eagles, the NFCs answer to the Raiders, without the SB wins,) but can't LIKE them. The only reason George Marshall didn't preserve his monopoly on pro football in the South by vetoing a Dallas team (again) is because Clint Murchison bought the rights to the Redskins fight song and blackmailed him into submission. I couldn't care less about the Bucs; not sure where that came from. It's hard to respect THEM after what Coach Chucky pulled in their only SB win, but then again, he only screwed the Raiders, so, meh.

He's talked about how Bernie Kosar and the Browns is what made him love football.
Um, citation DESPERATELY needed. I despised Kosar and the Browns because of their record against Moon and the Oilers, same as with Esiason and the Bengals. No, they didn't make me like football; Shanny coaching the Broncos to PLAY football made me like THEM, but my dad raising me on Landry, Staubach, TD, Pearson and the Doomsday D made me like football.

The only thing I recall posting about Kosar was the thread about his daughter becoming a porn star, because I thought it was funny, not because I like Kosar (just the opposite, actually.) If you're gonna pscyhoanalyze me online, at least get your facts straight, because THAT statement is pretty much 180° from both my posting history and reality. Par for the course, sadly. :tsk:

Okay, think that about covers the discussion of me; not sure what it has to do with whether PHoFM will ever win a playoff game outside. One would think the GoAT would do that at least ONCE in his career.

Not asking the average, but the actual forecast. If all goes as we hope we'll play two January games at Mile High, could theoretically play three and won't control the weather for any: What's worst case scenario?

Non-emotional? It's literally pointless to argue that Joel is not overcome with Stage 4 Butthurt at this point.

It's weird; the same people accuse me of being elated we lost—claim I "live for" such games—then turn right around and criticize me not being HAPPY WE LOST like they are.

First, there is literally no way we play 3 games home playoff games. No team, no matter their playoff seed can. Second, the most accurate forecast u can get 2 months in advance would be to look at the average temperature...u know, cause since however friggin long they have been keeping track of the temperature, that's what it normally is. Could it be freezing like last year? Yup. Could it be 53 and sunny? Yup. What's the worst case scenario? We kept Tebow and your Texans got Peyton.

Okay, you're right, three playoff games is impossible since the #1/2 seeds host the winners of Wildcard Weekend, so we'll either be in the first group (and spared a third playoff game) or the second (and on the road in the divisional round.) That said, the actual January conditions are the only ones that matter, however unknowable they are at this point. You're right the average is our best guess two months out, but even then 43° doesn't need more than one or two standard deviations to fall below the 40° where PFM has NEVER won a playoff game. I'm not sure he's ever won a playoff game OUTSIDE, at ANY temp.

As previously noted, if the best rebuttal anyone can find to PFMs career and most recent playoff performances, as well as his consistently abysmal cold weather showings, is a QB who hasn't played for ANYONE in two years, that's not much of a rebuttal.

Mannings track record in the cold is pitiful; if this were arena league that might not matter, but NFL Championships are won outside in the cold, so much so that many indoor/warm weather Super Bowls weren't much more than afterthoughts. If you're facing Brady and/or the coachs face has frostbite, the Manning you want is Eli. Peyton would've been better off in Houston, with an indoor warm weather stadium and contenders roster in his own backyard. In the twelve years I lived in Houston it only snowed twice and only stuck ONCE.

None of that has jack to do with He Who Must Not Be Named, except insofar as any and all criticisms of PFM are always dismissed with "Tebois...."
