ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker has passed through the NFL's post-concussion protocol and has been cleared to play Sunday against the New England Patriots, his former team.

Welker was a full participant in practice on Friday, and is officially listed as probable on the Broncos' injury report. Interim head coach Jack Del Rio, using the same language he used last week for quarterback Peyton Manning, said he would list Welker as "definite" if that was an available designation.

Welker left last week's game against Kansas City in the fourth quarter. He initially went to the sideline after taking a big hit and the end of a catch, and the team said he was evaluated then for a neck injury. He was cleared to return, played four more snaps before he left the game. It was then that he was diagnosed with a concussion.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – After a week of limited participation in practice, cornerback Champ Bailey is questionable for Sunday’s matchup with New England as he continues to recover from a foot injury that he aggravated in Week 7.

Bailey said Friday that he is progressing “very well.”

“I got a good week of practice in, feel pretty confident about going forward,” Bailey said. “I just need to make sure I’m all the way there, mentally and physically.”

Interim Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio said Friday that there was a “pretty strong likelihood” that Bailey would return to action before the end of the regular season, but didn’t specify if that meant Bailey would be ready by Sunday night or not.

Well, since Amendola is the only the real threat they have at WR, yeah, I would hope he has a better game than Wes. When DT has 180 yards it won't matter.

Yes, I am sorry to hear that Wes is going to be playing. He could turn this game for Denver.

Hopefully his head is not as clear as the Denver medical staff has led the League to believe.

You seem to know an awful lot about football coverage. Do you have any opinion on whether it will be Hightower or Spikes who gets assigned the job of separating Wes's head from his body the first time he runs the middle slant?

GEM
11-22-2013, 10:23 PM
Hightower or spikes would have to catch him first, that isn't going to happen, so does it matter. Manning and his boys will be torching your defense all night, just be ready for it then it won't hurt so bad when it happens.

Army Bronco
11-22-2013, 10:49 PM
So..in what quarter will Brady start crying to the refs? He tends to do this ALOT when he is about to lose. How long will Gronks forearm or back will hold up after Nacho or Kayvon drill him? Will Glass Amendola last the whole game?

That's the only concern I have? Cold weather will be an issue but if there is no pressure, manning will find the open man each time?

But with the very cold elements will he have any feelings in his fingers from his 3X surgically repaired neck?

Is the d line going to put as much or more pressure on manning than the chiefs did?

Yes they do AB. There's plenty of cold mountains in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Now I'm beginning to think you never battled a Taliban in hand to hand combat.

The fighting subsides because they can't get through the snow in the Mountains..the supplies actually from the Haqani network in Pakistan. They wait till it melts in the spring and start their offensive. I've never been to the Stan..only Iraq and Colombia doin counter narcotics missions.

AB....aren't you leading us off topic with all your war stories? Remember, this discussion is about how concerned the Patriots should be with Welker now cleared for action.

Back on topic, it would be great if 83 gets 2 TDs and at least 8 receptions.

Brady yells at rookies and Peyton yells at his all pro center. Please link me to Brady throwing team mates under the bus a la "we had protection problems out there today" we will never agree so whatever.

Rookies are "teammates". To be honest, I couldn't possibly care any less, it's not the QB's job to be nice.

I have always been partial to the F4 Corsair used by the Navy in the Pacific theater. Beautiful airplane and not nearly as finnicky to operate as the Mustang which required very specific starting procedures and was prone to overheating - it wouldn't have performed nearly as well in the South Pacific. Although, if you just want a workhorse to drop ordnance on the bad guys, the A6 Texan was your beast.

My favorite has always been the Lockheed P-38 "Lightning".

Not only did it have distinctive looks, having its guns mounted next to the canopy instead of on the wings, it had a much longer effective shooting range.

F-4 was the Phantom. The Corsair was an A-6.

I hope he goes for 200+ and 3 TDs...

...along with Decker and Thomas too :D

In all seriousness, I hope he doesn't hurt himself further...

They can afford to lose it. They don't have to be so greedy.

I encourage them to rest up for their big game at Arrowhead.

I hope you die.

No, Corsair is F4 also. F4u if built by Chance Vought, F4g for Goodyear, and there was a third but can't remember off top of head.

And if you really want to split hairs, the A6 is the Texan and the A-6 is a jet built by Grumman known as the Intruder.
