Football fans, it is that time of year again. Minus 2011 when Peyton was hurt, and 2008 when Tom Brady was hurt. The Patriots and Peyton Manning will go head-to-head for the 11th straight year.

The Broncos are the only team in the NFL that Tom Brady does not have a winning record against. However, the Patriots are currently on a three game winning streak against the Broncos.

Focusing on this year, the Patriots have had their ups and downs. They have had a series of serious injuries, primarily on the defensive side of the ball. New England’s defense has struggled due to these injuries and currently ranks 20th in average yards per game allowed.

They have struggled the most in stopping the run, ranking 27th in rushing yards allowed per game and 24th in yards per carry.

The three major names associated with their injury list are Jerod Mayo, Vince Wilfork, and Tommy Kelly. All three started and where impact players on this unit.

The defense isn’t the only unit that has struggled this year. Tom Brady has had just an average season thus far. He has only 14 touchdown passes and seven interceptions which isn’t the Brady we are used to seeing. Brady’s 2,371 passing yards have the offense ranked 16th in passing as well. Brady has had two games this year with zero touchdown passes, and two games this year where he failed to throw for 200 yards.

Aside from the offensive and defensive struggles, and the injuries woes, the Patriots have managed to still to have the top record in the AFC East at 7-3. IDK, boys. It sounds like it may be time for Tommy boy to find another line of work.
