The NBA's instant replay guidelines grow every year, like an ever-sprouting beanstalk.
It is a dizzying set of guidelines that govern everything regarding when and how replay can be used. For the 2013-14 season, there is one modification to a rule and one addition to the rule book.
First, officials can now review and reverse a restricted-area offensive foul call if they determine the defender was outside of the restricted zone but did not beat the offensive player to the spot before that player started his upward shooting motion.
Second, made shots during fouls called away from the ball can be reviewed to determine whether the shot should count.
