For the time in his career, Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

They apparently didn’t have this award after the Broncos’ first-round playoff win against Pittsburgh to open the 2011 playoffs.

Anyway, Thomas caught three touchdown passes from Peyton Manning in the Broncos’ 28-20 win at San Diego. His most impressive was a bubble screen catch-and-run for 34 yard score.

Beast! We'll deserved. He needs to have another one handed td this Sunday, just like last year.

He earned it, no doubt. That bubble screen at the end was just beautiful; he had nice downfield blocking (which our Gs blocked that well AT the line,) but navigating that obstacle course to turn a decent first down catch into a TD was breathtaking. It seemed like he felt anything LESS than a TD there was unacceptable, which is the attitude I want our receivers to have on every play, even short little screens. Every time we run that play it reminds me of PFMs 400th career TD (also to Thomas.) The one-handed pylon reach as he went out of bounds in the first half was also breathtaking. Huge game for a huge player.
