View Full Version : Broncos OT Orlando Franklin a "tough guy" in return from injury

In a mild surprise, given the extent of the left leg injuries he suffered two weeks ago, Orlando Franklin was the Broncos' starting right offensive tackle Sunday.

"It tells you we've got some tough guys on this team," Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning said.

And Manning is one of them. He suffered an ankle injury two games ago while getting hit in the end zone against Jacksonville and Manning was hit hard and hit often the previous Sunday at Indianapolis.

Was there ever any question?

It was a footnote in the story, but:

RGIII: 15 Completions
Broncos Defensive Line: 13 Quarterback Hits

Boom.

Did Vickerson's penalty count as as hit? I just want to make sure we're getting full credit for beating up RGIII. :)

Was good to see him back; was more worrisome that our pass protection and run blocking still wasn't there most of the game. Franklin giving up the strip-sack was scary in many ways. Hopefully that was just lingering injury and he'll be 100% after the bye. I only wish Cladys absence could be so easily remedied.

According to the stats the line gave up only one quarterback hit while the Redskins line gave up 10.

Not counting the two sacks, of course. That's good news against some good pass rushers, but I'm also concerned we had no push most of the game and kept letting multiple defenders into the backfield (with the notable exception of 4th and 2 and Balls TD run; our offense was only good for about ten minutes, though it made those ten count for all they were worth.) Worried about those Chiefs LBs. And Ninkovich.

Man he could barely walk in between plays by the end of the game, but he did his job. :salute: to 74!
