ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – During linebacker Von Miller’s six-game suspension, he wasn’t able to practice with the team.

But he was allowed to use the team’s weight room and it sure seems like he took advantage of that.

“Best shape of my life,” Miller said. “I feel a lot stronger, quicker and faster.”

Head Coach John Fox noticed how Miller’s work in the weight room paid off as soon as he stepped back on the practice field on Wednesday.

I really excited to see him play. I don't expect him to turn us in to the 85 Bears D, but I think he's going to make a huge impact.

Doesn't mean any of the statements aren't true, though.

The weight gain has been gradual. He played at 255 last year, so he's only gained 5 pounds since then. I think we can safely expect a more explosive player, or at least a better conditioned player.

...yeah, yeah...

Just kill every quarterback you play and steer clear of the hashish and speed traps.

What if this is the first time that Von has fully devoted himself to the game?

Let's say he has been getting by on his physical talent, but now he is fully engaged? Think about that for a minute

For me it doesn't mean anything. Players have said that before and it doesn't show up on game day. Just go out there and produce

I just want to see him play some inspired football. I don't care as much about stats, but if he's flying around getting pressure and blowing up running plays (even if he's not the guy making the tackle) I'll be happy. I want him to show that he did miss it and that he wants to be the guy we need him to be. I want him to help the team win.

Oh, and for the love of God, no more damned injuries!!!!!!!

Thought you guys might appreciate these links. The first one is a write up and stats determining Vons avg time till contact with the QB at 2.75 sec.

Quote from first link.

Football Outsiders uses 3.0 seconds (http://www.footballoutsiders.com/under-pressure/2011/under-pressure) as their holy grail of sack times. Generally speaking, at least by that metric, sacks under 3.0 are out of the quarterback's control, sacks that occur more than 3.0 seconds are due to the QB holding the ball too long.

Von Miller's baseline of 2.75 seconds per sack falls well within that metric. Looking specifically from sack to sack, 22 of Von's 31 sacks (or 70.9%) have occurred within 3 seconds of the snap. and this
2.75 seconds, that's all it takes before #58 starts to eat. Just for reference, Andrew Luck's average time to throw last year was 2.86 seconds. He better get the ball out faster than that this week.

The second one analyzes Vons 2012 sacks with the details of technique used, time, when it happened in the game, who he beat etc..

Well, ok, for YOU it doesn't mean anything because it may not show up in stats. But to them it could very well mean a lot. Less soreness, not getting as tired, maybe doing a better job of holding their spot even though it didn't show up on the 'tackle' stat sheet....maybe something as simple as getting into the habit of keeping in better shape thus lengthening their career.

dude those commercials need to be launched into space to never be seen again. Only a hostile alien race would see it, then be like "**** that planet, they got annoying ass kids."

With the six game suspension he will have plenty of strength and energy to Last through the rest of the season and playoffs. He will Comeback With a point to prove that he is the best defensive player in the league. He will have 10+ sacks at the end of the season.

Never said anything about stats but nice try. He had 6 extra weeks to get in great shape. Sorry if I'm not all over his nuts

They said on NFL network today that Von told them he's at 270 now.

Here's verification-

When Miller returned to practice earlier this week, he said he weighed 270 pounds. Last season, when he had 18½ sacks, Miller played at about 255 pounds, and that was nine more than his rookie weight in 2011.

Miller had been focused on gaining weight throughout the offseason and told reporters this spring he was at 260 pounds but still wanted to get bigger. The muscle-building plan intensified during his suspension, and Miller now says he's the biggest— and yet the fittest — he's ever been in his life.
