Tick, tick, tick.

They can't help but hate the clock, at least on a day like this one. The bench doesn't even get warm beneath them, sometimes. It stays that dull, metallic cold when the afternoon shadows have engulfed the sideline.

Four seconds off the game clock once.

Three minutes and change another time.

from article:

"It's kind of a love-hate thing," Rodgers-Cromartie said of the Broncos offense, especially in the first half. "You love that (Peyton Manning is) out there putting points on the board, but as a defense, they score so fast, you're like, it's time to take some of that time off the clock."

Del Rio has been magnificent at making halftime adjustments the second half of last year and this year so far...

...fantastic job and keep it up!

Amazing how good this d is. Ayers was a beast today. Nate Irving. Phillips, DRC, Kayvon, Rahim etc etc So many great plays by so many players.
Wonder if Del Rio will be coaching USC next year

I thought about this after the kick return TD: The D stopped a drive just inside the red zone, but one play later they were back out on the field, where they only barely kept the Eagles out of our end zone from our 8. This is (one reason) why a consistent running game is so important; a drive that lasts 10:00 of game time and 30:00 of real time keeps the D fresh, but it's harder to do that passing, even when scoring TDs, because the yardage comes in much bigger chunks and the field's only 100 yds.

Our D played a solid game though; I know they gave up some early runs, especially to Vick, and that big screen away from the blitz on third and long set up Phillys only meaningful TD, but after we shut down McFaddens #1 ranked rushing offense Philly took its statistical place, and we still only allowed 20 points, 7 of them in garbage time. The line looks great against the run, and the secondary solid (Carter's inconsistent play is probably the weakest link, but he's only in on dime packages, and not awful.) Just wish we could get pressure without blitzing; Miller can't return soon enough.

If not USC which I think is highly probable it will be somewhere else.
