Well, we sure are hoping for a breakout night against the assclowns from NY. They'll be up for the game, as usual, so NE had better get it in gear early and often if they want to lay an embarrassing blowout on them.

I think the Pats are up to the task, and they usually follow any less than stellar performance with an ass kicking of their next opponent.

Time to get your mojo on, men.

Half of NE's offense is injured and not playing tonight. Hopefully Dobson and Boldin are active and healthy enough to make a good contribution.

Got the game set up on my dvr. Well throw it on when we get home from practice. It will interesting to see how the offense does with out Danny and the running back they lost. I forgot which one. Plus didn't the other one have a slight fumbling issue?

Then the jets are the jets.

Can't wait.

Shane Vereen got injured and Steven Ridley has come down with a case of Hillmanitis.

Patriots need to pressure Geno Smith. I will accept nothing less than six sacks in this game for NE.

I'm not going to lie. I am picking the Pats to win tonight. The Jets don't scare anyone and I think the Bills were a tougher team. Either way, NE is in a weaker division kind of like the Broncos.

Yeah it was ridiculous. That was when I used to live in Abilene. That game broke so many NCAA records for points and yards it made my head spin. Johnny Knox (who was a Bear but has to retired and whom my wife went to high school with at Channelview HS in Channelview, TX) was playing and had a good game. It was insane. I've watched Arena games that moved at a snail pace compared to that one.

After Smith threw his 10th interception of the night, mangold dove fir the knees of whoever intercepted the ball while dude was out of bounds. An almost bench clearing brawl ensued. Punches were thrown, refs were pushed, and players ejected.

They should have kept Tebow for such a time as this. Tebow would have run for dinner of those first downs. Especially the one where the jets were either in the red zone or super close, and dude throws an interception.

I hate to say it, and I think some one else said it, but Sanchez wins that game last night. With all the dropped passes and miscommunication, Sanchez would have driven the jets down for at least 2-3 field goals.

All smack aside, the pats were lucky tonight, and seriously exposed. Once they get gronk back they will be ok until he gets hit in the back.

But a win is a win no matter how ugly. We as bronco fans should remember that. NEVER FORGET!

Sorry I couldn't join you for the fun last night, guys, but I went out to the pub to watch the game with some of my crew. It was along, long night, to say the least, made worse by having to endure three hours of negativity from one fellow Pats fan and the subtle phony commiseration from Pats-but-packers-first buddy who was obviously elated by the performance put on last night.

I can handle the negativity if it's reasonable, but coming from a guy who can't understand why NE ever runs the ball at all, why Brady doesn't complete 100% of his passes (since he gets paid so much money, or why all eleven players on offense can't all go out for a pass at once, if they want to...well, I end up feeling like I'm watching the damn game with Red, Thnik or MO. Just added to the pain.

But, as I tried to explain to Red in another thread, we learn something new everyday, and we're never too old to learn. Here's some of the things I gleaned from last night's game and this thread.

1. Pats' rookie receivers aren't there, just yet. And will take a little more time for these guys to synch with Brady. Physical skills aside, it takes time to develop the timing and route running and these guys haven't got it down yet. is

2. We need Amendola to be healthy to make this Offense go. Gronk's return will be huge, but that slot guy is key.

3. Pags is actually a big Pats' fan, after all. I could sense it for the first time in his comments. Sitting alone....no distractions allowed come KO...that's the way to watch the game. Fire in the belly! I always did that, too, but one guy's wife pleaded with me to watch a game with her husband, and that started it.....total ******* mistake. Great guy, but how do concentrate on the game when someone's second guessing every play. Swear, he could sour a lemon.

4. Right now, sadly, I can think of 15 teams in the AFC alone that could beat NE on any given night....not good for a brash, trash-talking NE booster's schtick. Pats' have a lot of work to do over the next ten days to get things gelling.

5. Denver fans appear to be correct.....If the Broncos handle the Giants in the same fashion they handled Baltimore, I'll be inclined to consider them the cream, and I may be forced to tone down the rhetoric.... Of course, even a busted clock is right, twice a day.

6. Brady could better serve the cause by holding his emotions in check during the game, regardless of how frustrated he gets with those young receivers.

7. Belichick is absolutely not the cold, heartless ***** that opposing fans love to portray. At the end of last night's game, he raised his fist in victory, and probably a bit in relief, at that triumph of the wills. Scoff if you want, but playing that poorly and yet pulling out the victory is a triumph of sorts in that league, and Beli put his emotions on display, even if only for that one brief moment.

8. WTE is the class of this forum.....handled every abusive comment with dignity last night. And it's pretty obvious, he is loved here.

And last, but not least...

9. I realized, after perusing the thread, that here is nothing at all wrong with Red, Thnik or MO......that a personality transplant couldn't fix

Army Bronco

Yeah, total bullshit that your key off season free agent signing is injured after the first week when that was the his main red flag heading into free agency. Let me start by commending you, Buff, on your amazing 20-20 hindsight....I'm totally impressed. But I don't know why, because a lot of you seem possessed of that skill.

Reminds me a lot of all the gurus who predicted the Randy Moss signing, given his history, was a huge mistake....I seem to recall that paid off with a few dividends overall.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to your crystal ball, and neither do the Patriots, so we couldn't foresee the certainty of Amendola's setback, or the early season ineffectiveness of the Pats' new WRs as clearly as you did.

We'll just have to sit back and wait to see how things pan out over the long haul, I guess. I'll suggest to Bill that he contact you for your advice since you have such great access to future events.

The Amendola signing wasn't so bad - what was bad was letting Welker walk over a couple million dollars after he'd been so productive and reliable. But the Patriots pride themselves on being smarter than everybody else. Welker wasn't worth the money. Good luck with your Aaron Dobson-led Super Bowl charge!

Yeah, it's not like Welker hasn't been one of the most reliable receivers in the league or the Amendola has a history of injury problems.

So, Al...are you of the opinion that a player who has had the bad luck to have suffered a few unrelated injuries should never be considered, regardless of performance otherwise, and any team who signs him is crazy and shortsighted?

Well, that's interesting because I was originally of the opinion that Welker deserved the do-re-mi, if for nothing else, his tremendous contributions to the Pats success. Also, I felt he was not finished as a slot receiver yet. Coupled with the fact that I didn't know much about AD, I thought it was a travesty not to reward Welker and retain his services. but that's not how the league works, at least not among the perennial front leaders and successful franchises. I doubt it had anything at all to do with arrogance, as you imply.

As far as being a "bad" move....you're once again displaying that hindsight, I think. Remember, when all this transpired, Hernandez was still on the roster and in the mix and NE had signed some FA vets at WR. They were beat out by the rookies who obviously must have shown something early on. The situation appears more dire because they haven't caught on as quickly as hoped, Gronk is still out, Hernandez is gone and Amendola suffered a setback after wowing NE fans in game one.

Let me start by commending you, Buff, on your amazing 20-20 hindsight....I'm totally impressed. But I don't know why, because a lot of you seem possessed of that skill.

I remember thinking, when NE signed Moss, that Moss would be an amazing signing and that he would have the best stats of his career with Tom Brady throwing him the ball. Maybe it's because I didn't pay too much attention, but I don't remember seeing a whole lot of negativity regarding Moss signing with NE due to the conception that if anyone could reel his "issues" in and keep them at bay it would be Belicheat.

Agreed. The only "red flag" i ever saw with the Moss signing was his attitude which ultimately reared its ugly head even with the Pats down the road.

Uhm.....that's a poor attempt to twist my post. I'm saying signing him to replace Welker was not a good idea. I suppose if you knew you had no shot at Wes Welker it was a good idea, but expecting him to replace Welker's production was not likely, and there were indicators of that.

Then there was the reported "Suck my dick" comment by Bill, picked up by a bystander, after the 45-? drubbing in Foxboro a couple years ago.

I'll go out on a limb and say there's a possibility that Bill doesn't care for the Jets very much.

That's not hindsight. People were saying those things the minute they let go Welker and signed Amendola.

Now that it has happened it's not hindsight, it's being right.

Try reading Buff's comment and then put my remarks into context.

Sure, people were aware of the "red flag', Captain Obvious, but that doesn't mean Amendola should have been be avoided at all cost. Sure, there was a chance he could get injured again, just like every other player in the League, including Welker. But to say "See...I told you so" on that basis (a completely unrelated to past history injuries) is hindsight.

I guess, using your logic, if Manning gets his neck broken this week, all those who said he should have never played again were "right".

Define whining. Is that what you call it when someone expresses an opinion...or is that what they call it when Brady throws his helmet and has a meltdown because a receiver dropped a pass?

Ok...I'll make the playing field more even. Geno Smith had receivers drop a bunch of passes as well. Geno Smith is a rookie playing with vet receivers...Brady is a future Hall of Famer playing with rookie receivers. I didnt see Geno go apeshit

The difference between Manning and Amendola is that for 13 years before Manning sat the year out he had never missed a game in his NFL (or college) football career. The risk was much less with Manning and his neck than it was/is for Amendola and his fragile...well...whole body. Also, the difference between Manning and Amendola is that Manning's injury, per his surgeons, therapists, trainers, etc is not any more susceptible to re-injury than any other person' is to a first injury. The risk with Manning wasn't that he was going to get his neck hurt again, it was whether or not he would return to form. The risk with Amendola always has been can he go a whole season without missing multiple games? Now that Amendola is NE's primary receiving threat, be that as it may, his health becomes that much more important and THAT is why so many people raised the flag when NE signed him.
