This thread is priceless. Pats fan starts it as a means to talk trash only to see his team squeak it out like a wet fart. Now im watching them get all huffy and puffy because their "awesome" replacement for Welker has a glass vagina. Priceless. Maybe you guys should wait until your team actually HAS an impressive game before the flapping of the gums yea? lol

Define whining. Is that what you call it when someone expresses an opinion...or is that what they call it when Brady throws his helmet and has a meltdown because a receiver dropped a pass?
from article:
NFL Media's Michael Irvin was highly critical of Brady, who was demonstrative on the field and on the sideline. Irvin, a Hall of Fame wide receiver, said Brady should be more supportive of his wideouts, and the quarterback agreed with the sentiment.
"I've got to do a better job with my body language," Brady said after the game. "I can definitely improve on that. I wouldn't say that's a real strong point of mine right now."

Sounds like whining to me
Because he's a whiny bitch. Always has been. Manning may not have the rings Brady has, but he sure as hell sets himself apart from Brady with his attitude on and off the field. Brady is a prententious faggot most of the time.

Well, that's all very nice....and thanks for sharing Carol.
But at least he owned up to it, instead of getting huffy and fuming, like peyton did with Woody Paige a couple weeks ago when asked how he felt about being considered the "Greatest regular season quarterback of all time".

I found the article - and where exactly did Peyton get huffy and fuming? Nice try, trying to divert the negative attention from Brady
from article:
"There are so many people, analysts, out there." He paused. "To react or try to control what they say, I've never tried to do that, and I'm not about to start trying now." Peyton eased into his comfort zone again. "I don't look in the past. My goals every year are to practice hard, work hard, play hard, and I try to win every single game I play, and that's how I go through my life.
"Everybody can have an opinion, and I have my own."

I'm sorry Carol, I apologize.
I saw the actual video of the interview, and Peyton was clearly taken aback and bristled at the question. You won't get that from the transcript.
But, hey, as I said much earlier today in recap of what I learned from the Jets' game, Brady was clearly out of line, IMHO, in the way he reacted to his receivers' gaffs. I don't know how you would think I was diverting anything away from him, on that issue.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -- With an unimpressive offense, the New England Patriots are unbeaten after strong fourth quarters by the defense.
But what will happen when they don't play rookie quarterbacks?
They're about to find out.
After squeaking out wins over the Buffalo Bills, with EJ Manuel at quarterback, and New York Jets, with Geno Smith under center, the Patriots will face two of the NFL's top quarterbacks, Matt Ryan and Drew Brees, in the next four games.

New England might be able to squeak it out against the Falcs, but it's hard to picture them beating the Saints right now.

Soooo, I find the article, which Paige wrote, I post what Peyton said, which does not go along with what you said, and now you are stating that it was the actual video of the interview. WELL- OK
Sorry...I should have said you see/find all the "material" (as someone said, in a comment). But I am positive that I sawthe interview because I distinctly recall Manning's facial reaction to the line of questioning....it is indelibly imprinted in my mind. I flip through all the TV channels and news websites, so it could have been anywhere that I saw it, and since the article is dated 9/1/13, I doubt I'll be able to retrieve it. I wouldn't deliberately lie about this, as some would suggest I am doing.
But, focusing on the article itself, you say...
"I found the article - and where exactly did Peyton get huffy and fuming? Nice try, trying to divert the negative attention from Brady."
Well, looking closely at that article, it's pretty obvious even from the written word that Manning reacted exactly as I originally stated......let's take a look (Highlighted) and so I think your question has been answered.
So I asked Peyton the toughest question during training camp:
"In the offseason you've been described as the best regular-season quarterback in NFL history. How do you respond?"
Peyton laughed. He knew the characterization was not meant as a compliment on his regular-season achievements, but rather a condemnation of his postseason failures. The quarterback who is rarely taken down was taken aback.
Manning graduated in three years from Tennessee with a degree in speech communications and he handles questions as effortlessly as he does a football. Yet, for just a moment, he was getting a grip.

I think it's pretty comical that you are trying to compare that Manning video you posted to Brady's blowups, BJ. Manning and Saturday were both long time veterans who had been teammates and friends for many years. They were probably both laughing about that yelling match the next day. Brady's outburst came at young inexperienced WRs who he has probably only known for a few months, and he probably didn't do much to improve their confidence by acting as he did. The Manning thing was also started by Saturday because he was getting pissy about not having enough running plays called.

First of all, Wave...I didn't post the Manning video. Pags posted it, while I commented on it.
Turns out, it wasn't your run of the mill exchange. Colts' management/NFL unleashed a barrage of PR pieces to tone down and dismiss the video...It was quite a staged attempt to rehabilitate Peyton's image. The issue was that Manning used his authority(audibling) to call three pass plays in a row from about the five yard line. Some, including, it seems, Saturday and Tarik Glenn felt that Manning may have been trying to play the hero (with another passing TD) at the team's expense by passing instead of punching it in on the ground.
My sympathies lay with Saturday and felt Manning displayed a deep-seeded refusal to accept any criticism and only showed remorse or responsibility because, having forgot he was 'miked up' for the game, he knew he got caught with his pants down and the only thing he regretted was the hit to his public persona.
Manning has been widely viewed as stand-offish, "me" kind of player. It is not often you see him run down the field to hi-five of congratulate a teammate unless it is to celebrate another milestone of his in the play. Last week, for instance, the only time I saw him show any emotion in that rout was when he threw his seventh TD and tied the record. I could cite more examples of this attitude from his days in Indy. Also, you seldom see him engaging with his teammates on the sidelines, usually sitting by himself and away from any of his teammates.
Oh, and once again, let me repeat....I'm not comparing ANYTHING. But it seems you and some others are claiming I am.

Not one of them reamed Brady out....they were fairly understanding and even pointed out that it was primarily Edelman, a five year vet, who was the target of Brady's angst.
Nobody, including me, says Brady should get a free pass, but nobody but you rival fans are suggesting he was a putz about it.

Well, that settles it. I have def been harder on Brady for his display of emotion/frustration than any of those three, including Merriman who I would have guessed would have ripped Brady hard.
Interesting perspective, Carol, thanks for posting this. I was probably too hard on him myself.
OK - I just listened to it again, and they all agreed that it was good that he apologized for it, and they also agreed that before Brady's press conference, someone from the Patriots PR dept. suggested he do it. Also, the video showed what Brady did - therefore, the negative is out there for anyone to see, which I totally enjoyed.

Did you watch the video - obviously it showed he was a putz about it - many times. If he was not, this would not be all over the internet. If he did NOTHING wrong, why did he apologize for his actions during his press conference?

"Did New England Patriots QB Tom Brady cross the line?" That was the question and topic of that piece.
I'd say the participants' answers were "No, not at all" since not one of them condemned the actions. In fact, one of them actually said he'd give Brady a pass. Moreover, they referenced Philip Rivers behavior in comparison, to demonstrate that Brady's actions were nothing to get excited about.
BYW... they didn't agree that someone in PR told him to start off the presser by defusing the question or apologizing, they agreed that someone MAY have pulled him aside OR that he may have decided ON HIS OWN to approach it that way.
I wouldn't doubt that when the game was over and he cooled down a bit, he realized that he had been overly demonstrative out on the field, and regretted it.

That is a misrepresentation of what the media said about him after the game. Michael Irvin even went so far as to say he would have a problem with Brady talking to him like that even if he was a rookie.
What exactly happened on that sideline (I haven't seen it)?

Last night, Tom Brady was visibly frustrated.
It was pretty understandable too, as his receivers were constantly either running the wrong routes or dropping the ball. Still, Mr. Brady was not exactly perfect himself. Barking at his young receivers that are still developing, isn't going to do much for either his public image or their confidence.
After the outburst in the video above, Brady must've been talked to. He addressed the subject in his post-game press conference.
"I've got to do a better job with my body language," Brady said. "I can definitely improve on that. I wouldn't say that's a real strong point of mine right now."

But it should be a good game to watch. After all, they've both had a full week to practice after their opening game. It wasn't as if both team's just had like two days to get ready after they played their first game.

Did they not both play the early games Sunday, and then they did not play until late Thursday night? It is normal for coaching staffs to scout their next opponent, and already have some things in place.

First off, I am sure you could care about the Jets, so, let's talk about your team. They played in Buffalo, NY their first game, from Buffalo back to Foxboro, is a little over an hour flight. The Thursday night game was played at NE. I would assume they flew back immediately after the game on Sunday - again, since it was one of the early games, they got home at a very reasonable time on Sunday. They then had Mon/Tue/Wed to practice, and more than likely went over things before the game Thursday night, and may even a light practice.
Also, we both KNOW that other teams have had to play a game on Sunday, and then again on Thursday night.
Carol, with all due respect have you ever suited up? Have you ever been hit repeatedly in the first game of a tackle football season and then been asked to suit up and be hit repeatedly again just a couple days after?
Because this is where I think your input would be most valued as compared to your uninformed opinions and internet links.

You haven't either so ****
Carol & Davii, you are two of my dear friends and I love you both! But I want to correct you on a couple falsehoods you have provided.
1. The NFL just started having Thursday night the 2nd game of the season. This hasn't been done all along as both of you wonderful people have portrayed.
2. The NFLPA has strongly opposed these Thursday night games due to the heightened degree of injury and abuse it opposes on the players.
3. The NFLPA has conducted a study and found that the Thursday night games are by far the most poorly executed games due to the extremely short time of preparation and extreme exhaustion of the players.
So let's not define the Patriots potential going forward based on a poorly scheduled game between the Patriots and Jets.
Instead, let us enjoy this game between the Broncos and Giants and see if Denver is fortunate enough to start the season 2-0 like New England.

Hiding behind awkwardly phrased sentences is nothing new. This isn't a court room. Trying to cleverly put together words doesn't do anything for you when it's just a crappy con. It loses the rest of it's 'worth' when it's coming from a person who is 'teaching' us.
We shall see. Any particular reasoning behind the prediction or just throwing out numbers?
It's just a hunch my dear friend Davii. Tell me, what's your prediction?

Funny, I didn't see her say she took offense. It looks as though she was curious why you choose to troll other team's fan boards. It appears as though she was attempting to nudge you into looking inward to the reasons you became a common internet troll in the first place.
She was trying to help, you know, like you.
To be honest, I have not taken offense at any of your comments as I look at them for what they are, the words of an internet troll, meaningless and hollow, and only aimed to annoy.
That's truer than the criticism of Brady's temper tantrum

For once, I'll be happy to find the Giants being telecast in our area.
If the G-men win, I wonder if Woody Paige will ask Peyton in their next interview what it feels like to be the second best QB.......in his own family?
I highly suspect Denver is going to run into a buzz saw tomorrow.
But it should be a good game to watch. After all, they've both had a full week to practice after their opening game. It wasn't as if both team's just had like two days to get ready after they played their first game.
I think revisiting these predictions is time worthy.

The only criticism I made came after Moore's pick in the end zone, when every poster except, joel and one other, gushed about the play....including you, until I pointed out the obvious. You don't pick a 60 yard pass into the end zone on 4th down (unless you can return it for a score). You decided to debate that for some odd reason, arguing that "it didn't matter (that Moore made another bonehead play) because we were ahead by 22".....LOL That's asinine! The fact of the matter is....you started all the bullshit today, not me.
Other than that, I defy you to produce a single disparaging comment I made in that entire thread, Red. I could produce more than a few though that you and a couple other whiners posted if you want to debate this.
No one reported you. No one complained. I told you to go to smack, because your sour grapes posts were interfering with gsmeday thread, once aging, to which you have already been warned about. You can't talk about the Broncos without snide remarks or negativity. Since you are a Pansy fan, that puts you in the smack forum. So lay off members for shit you have no clue about. Given the time and score it was a completely meaningless play. Good for him for grabbing it and padding his stats. Literally had no impact on the outcome of the game. Would have been different if it were a close game, but that was not the case.

I claimed nothing of the sort. We have no idea what he would have done in a different situation because it did not happen in a different situation. Well, maybe you'd feel differently if the Giants had recovered the on-side kick after the TD and scored again? Would those circumstances have made you think differently about it? How about if they did that twice?
But, since the Moore play occurred BEFORE that possible scenario, I think it is nothing but a cop out by you, Red and anyone else who wants to dismiss the boneheaded Moore play as "meaningless" rather than simply agree with me.
You didn't know how the game would go from that point on....and neither did Moore. So to take the position that it was meaningless is ridiculous. Sure, NOW that the game is over and it didn't cost the Broncos a victory, I guess you can say it IS meaningless now.
But if Fox and Del Rio are any good at all at what they do, I would bet you that Moore will be hearing from them...emphatically....about how those situations are supposed to be handled.
