It probably sounds backward to Broncos fans, but it's accurate to say that quarterback John Elway was Steve Sewell's favorite pass receiver.
Of course, Sewell didn't complete a pass while a member of the Broncos to anyone other than Elway, going 2-for-7 in the regular season during his career.
But the former running back connected with Elway on a third memorable trick play — a 23-yarder in Super Bowl XXII in San Diego, where the Broncos lost 42-10 to the Washington Redskins after going up 10-0.
