How it looked to me, too. There were at least two different times he went down for a loss because swarmed at the hand off; not the backs fault if he doesn't get blocks. That last second down run he had to bounce outside because there was a ton of bodies stacked up where he went initially.

It is "when," too; he's had a great preseason even without considering he'd never played a down a year ago, but Detroit named Akers a team captain. Teams don't cut team captains any more than they keep two place kickers. I think Rugland's more accurate than Prater though, and his leg's at least as strong. He hasn't missed a kick yet in preseason, including 50 and 49 yarders against the Jets that cleared the bar easily, followed by kickoffs that both went into the endzone (even if Akers had to remind him to go kick the second one. :tongue:)
