I forget from year to year, but it does seem more injuries have happened this year, then again it could be the same every year. I noticed watching the game special teams had a big issue with tackling, but again, that seems like an issue every year. They go for the big hit instead of wrapping up and bringing to the ground.

But he is a situational back, like Sproles. You dont line him up every play. You use him as a receiving, screen back.

I dont understand why the Broncos are trying to act like he is an every down RB.

How it looked to me, too. There were at least two different times he went down for a loss because swarmed at the hand off; not the backs fault if he doesn't get blocks. That last second down run he had to bounce outside because there was a ton of bodies stacked up where he went initially.

I'd love to see us pick up Håvard Rugland when the Lions cut him. It is "when," too; he's had a great preseason even without considering he'd never played a down a year ago, but Detroit named Akers a team captain. Teams don't cut team captains any more than they keep two place kickers. I think Rugland's more accurate than Prater though, and his leg's at least as strong. He hasn't missed a kick yet in preseason, including 50 and 49 yarders against the Jets that cleared the bar easily, followed by kickoffs that both went into the endzone (even if Akers had to remind him to go kick the second one.)
