Broncos cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie suffered an injury scare about 20 minutes into practice Thursday but later returned to the field for scrimmaging.
Rodgers-Cromartie, who signed a one-year, $5 million contract with Denver as a free agent in the offseason and is the team's second-highest paid defensive player, was carted off the field with a high-ankle sprain early in training camp last month.
Rodgers-Cromartie was asked by Broncos coach John Fox about his ailment and pointed to his back.
