Haha. Deleted my post after I read the first few sentences of the post. I'm not sure how I skipped over that before.

Tavares King should have his head examined.

We had another WR number 15 that was an UDFA. Last year, I think. Was it Orton?

Can't remember, King has a chance to stick tho. He must've been living under a rock for the last four years.

Yeah. But at least all the Tebow and Marshall jerseys are still good. They just need to take off the nameplate.

Should just cross out Marshall, then put Tebow underneath and cross it out and put King. And when he's replaced just cross out his name and put the next. Just keep recycling it.

He's hoping King will make us forget Marshall & Tebow ever had the number.

While it is true Tebow was a bad passing QB, and his fans are ridiculous, I don't think we should be looking down on him like we do BMarsh.

Tim was a stand up, good heart-ed kid who gave his all every week. Maybe he sucked...but he left it all on the field.

38 seems like an odd number for a RB.

Wasn't that Mike Anderson?

Ahh, you are right. I was trying to think of a few RBs that had that number and I couldn't think of any.

Good call.

Walter Payton wore 34 so did Thurman Thomas, Herschel Walker, Joe Perry and Ricky Williams, Jerome Bettis wore 36, Tony Dorsett wore 33 along with Roger Craig, Jim Brown wore 32 as did Marcus Allen, Ricky Watters, O.J. Simpson, Franco Harris and Edgerrin James, Jamal Lewis wore 31, Shaun Alexander wore 37, Steven Jackson wore 39 which was also worn by Larry Csonka, Terrell Davis of course wore 30...Gerald Riggs wore 37 and 44 same with John Riggins who wore 44.

My point, I don't think that 38 is all that strange, granted a lot of great running backs wore twenty-something numbers, but so have a number of backs in the thirties.

What I found most interesting was that Osweiler who wore 6 last season has changed his number to 17, one number behind Manning's number and also has the number 7 included? Hmmmmm...

The question is; did Osweiler "earn" that number or did JFE just give it to him because he is his sons BFF?

Quinton Carter and Montee Ball should switch numbers.

I remember something about Tatum Bell when he first came to Denver. He was #7 in college. The only reason he thought he couldn't wear #7 was because of the NFL's rules. I remember an article or something.

Bell definitely wasn't the sharpest peanut in the turd.

This jersey numbering system is stupid. Let them wear what they want. Lets see a quarterback with 21, a running back with #5, a safety with #8, a cornerback with #81
Thats Hadl, Hornung, Larry wilson and night train lane

Btw, Louis Vasquez took Ramirez's #65, apparently. And nobody was given #97 yet, makes me wonder if the door is being left open for Bannan.

That would make it VERY difficult for refs to officiate the game. Especially in situations like o-linemen not being allowed to go down field. If you had a more slender o-linemen and gave him #84 or something he could possibly go down field and not be noticed by the refs.

So apparently Ball picked 38 because it was Anderson's number. The dude is definitely a fan.

In this case, I think veteran should be defined as someone who stays healthy enough to actually see the field and doesnt act like an idiot off the field

He was injured for one season. It happens. Compared to a lot of the league, his behavior off the field isn't that bad. Didn't Ball get arrested. He also hasn't started any NFL game. So, in my opinion, Carter has more right to the number than Ball.
